maybe a pre-owned fde is an option?

tough tough choice.........buuuuuut I also want to do a Curtis Custom bolt action in .308 / 6.5 Creedmore..........so I kinda wanna do a battle rifle with the Scar then do a precision rifle with the Curtis Customs action.

I personally think black looks better. These color schemes come and go but black will always be the classic. Every time I get a colored gun to mix it up, I regret not going with simple black.

Shouldn't be too hard to find if you're relatively patient.

I have the FDE17 & BLK16. They've both been 100% reliable for thousands of rounds with excellent accuracy for what it is. Definitely my favorite guns, the action is very smooth and the recoil impulse is very nice.

but big thanks to @RifleGear Fountain Valley, they are gonna convert a 17 they have in TX and ship it out here. So I pulled the trigger and ordered the FDE.

Thanks for the input, both rifles look awesome in my opinion but I actually like the multi-color as weird as it may actually be

I just added another color of brown to my SCAR 17, ordered a Magpul bipod for it. The collection of different browns just continues to grow ha ha.

Wait for the gun you want, I can’t imagine lying 3K+ for a gun and it not being exactly what I’d want. I just drosed my FDE scar 17 last Saturday and I passed on like 3 black ones

Haha, over the past few years, I've seen at least two ads for fde SCAR17s that some dipchits cerakoted in black. And then tried to dump them. Before rona, I saw at least 1 or 2 amazing deals on used featureless SCAR17s with extra mags and accessories for around $2800. This was earlier this year. I was very tempted.

I actually really like the different shades of FDE on my SCAR. The black is boring IMHO. The reason why there are a few different shades is the different materials for the receiver, upper, stock, and grip. I really dont see what the fuss is about, people will b1tch about anything these days.

The SCAR is super easy to make featureless. It comes standard with a brake, so just fix the stock and replace the grip. You can only shoot it with the stock in one position at a time anyway. So really the only practical difference is the grip. Not a deal breaker by any means. People that get all butthurt about it being a "neutered" gun are just as retarded as the dipchits that support these rediculous laws.

POF Revolution is pretty dope I must say. Too many AR's in the safe though wanting a different platform. Probably run a Primary Arms optic or something not too crazy that will hold constant zero. not Afganistan-proof or anything
