Aliens probed me on BLM landWhere the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

Wow, I REALLY hope you're kidding. This thread has over 100 comments and almost 6000 views and the best you could gleen from it are some "I knew a guy" 2nd hand stories? And you think this proves something?Comment

I remember Lytle in the big 80's. WILD. Absolutely other worldly. Once the paved road stopped all hell broke loose. You could literally walk for yards without ever touching the ground because of all the used shotgun hulls, shell casings and trash. Giant piles of old appliances and even a few cars roled out there shot up and left. And yes, more than once we'd be out there and the gang bangers would role up in their low riders with their AK's and malt liquor and go to town.
One time we were shooting and a large truck came down the dirt road in the center of the valley and a guy was standing in the truck bed with a full auto M-60 (Rambo style) shooting over us at our targets! We had 5 guys with semi-auto AW's (or what is NOW considered AW's) and we were WELL outgunned by this thing. Very scary. Never seen anything like it since.Comment

To be clear...
I was minding my own business safely and sanely using actual approved shooting ranges in the greater Shasta County area of northern CA.
Mostly, these folks showed up while I was already there and minding my own business shooting paper targets that I actually picked up when I left.
I'm the generally quiet guy who doesn't meddle into others business unless they bring it into my world these days. I have always been known as a magnet for trouble though lol. Seems to be in my blood.
You just can't help but stop and shake your head when you see some fool back up his pickup and off load his motor-cross bike literally 10 feet away from you as you're shooting at an obvious shooting range. Then they go tearing DOWN RANGE without a word and up the hillside behind your target as you patiently wait until you can't hear his bike anymore to resume shooting.
I'm just done with it. Darwin seems to be in full effect out there.
You've had "run in's" with over 8 different types of people while out shooting over the last 15 years?
Makes me wonder what YOU'RE doing that makes you such a target. Either that or you're embellishing your experiences.
I've been shooting down here in So Cal desert (Hodge Road / Mojave) and Big Bear (before it was banned) since about 1984. I've never had a single "run in" with anyone.
I've seen some people acting careless....I've heard some full auto. And I've met some pretty nice people. But I've yet to have a "run in" with anyone.
Mostly I just go to Hodge road now. But I drive out into the middle or over towards Route 66 more so that I can be by myself. I certainly feel safer out there than at any indoor ranges around.
I wouldn't discourage anyone from going there. I'd just say be aware of your surroundings at all times and if you can get there early and get away from the main berm that almost everyone shoots against. Be safe and you'll be fine.Murphy's Law - What can happen will happen at the least opportune momentComment

Probably a bunch of fellas who think they own the damn place. Some people are just stupid and no respect. I'm guessing either some old timers or some young arrogant tikes. To be clear...

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I get it. As I stated earlier....if I go shooting I go out far enough to be alone.

And this is the correct answer right there! Not letting out where I(we) shoot. We have it to ourselves, keep it clean like we weren't even there. And we DO keep an eye about. Still way better than a public range. Safe enough, safer than going to the market anyways.

There is a lot of illegal dumping going on behind my house. Last year someone pulled a old single wide trailer out my direction. When the last tire on one side blew, they dragged it on the rims until they reached a dirt road. They pulled it down the dirt road a few hundred yards and left it. That night, they came back and torched it. They probably realized it might be traced back to them. I tracked it (rim marks on blacktop) back through Yermo and lost the trail around Ghost Town Rd. At that point, the tires where all still holding air and where not leaving rim marks in the road. The desert behind my house is littered with tires, refrigerators, and a few boats. Pretty said.My truck was hit by illegal dumpers once going down a dirt road. They saw me going while dumping a full trailer load and took off. Their tire rubbed my fender as they past going the other way. They were dumpers, not shooters leaving trash. That was out near Palm Springs.

Well, I disagree. Over 6000 views and no real first person stories of how dangerous it is. Can things happen? Of course, but I still think it's more dangerous to go shooting at an indoor range.

Standing next to someone I don't know in an indoor range is far more worrysome. I've had suicides happen while there.
So far after many years I only see and meet nice people at my BLM spots. Even the rangers have been nice. This is in San Diego and Imperial Counties, not LA.Comment

Dude. There's first hand experience of a guy getting probed by aliens just a few posts above. I heard from a friend of a friend's mom's sister's mother in law's step son's granddaughter that it's true.Comment
