I’ve heard only one bad story. (Heard directly from the guy it happened to)

He was shooting full auto in the desert. Someone apparently followed him home. Stole the guns out of his garage while he was showering.

He didn’t lock his safe. Which at first blush I thought was stupid. But that may have saved his ***.

That's crazy. I've heard of that happening - recently that happened to someone here on Calguns. Got followed home and had their stuff stolen. I am usually pretty aware of cars behind me the closer I get to home, but I will have to remember to be more deliberate when I am coming home from shooting or even a gun store.

Yep. Always been like that, in my experience. We refer to it as "Shift Change."

You SoCal guys are going to start seeing more Raider fans one football starts up again, I'd bet. And you're welcome to them.

Me and a few of my buddies go out together on BLM and have never had any problems. We always clean up afterwards and just respect the area.

You shouldn't really go into any wilderness area solo. Accidents happen, and being alone can be a death sentence.

Other than that, it's fine. Just folks out enjoying nature.

Also, pick up all the trash you can. People are slobs.

What actually happens out there? I haven't heard of people getting shot and killed on BLM land. I have heard of people being shot at, supposedly, but it seems like if that really happened a lot, there would be a lot of people who got hit.

It’s not the criminals, it’s being around heavily armed idiots with zero regard for safety or other people.

And that’s just counting your buddies, not the randos you run into in the woods.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

One role of that yellow police style "Do not cross the line / crime scene" tape and a sign that says "Testing crime scene ballistics please keep back 500 ft" should do the trick.

Took the RZR out Wednesday with my wife and grandkids. Drove from my house to the back entrance of Mule Canyon (Calico). We entered the canyon and drove all the way through until we saw Calico Rd. We only saw one set of campers and one other off-road vehicle. The only time I was worried, was when I let my grandkids take turns driving.
