Do you guys keep a record or logbook of your gun purchases? Things like purchase date, address used for the transfer, things like that? Any reason to?

I have a note book that I’ve recorded all that info in since the late 80’s, whatever I bought or sold. There are a crap load of guns recorded in that notebook and more then a few Calgunners in it too.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Yep I file a paper copy of the Dealer's Record of Sale plus I scan it and keep them in a folder on my computer.Comment

Ok. I'll try to dig up what I can and make a digital and paper record. It will help if I want to sell anything, and for insurance purposes if my hovel burns down.Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

i use the notepad on my computer
i list all of my firearms, including serial numbers and email it to myself - that gives me a permanent record of all my firearms and i can access the information from any computer, laptop, or device that gives me email access
anytime i purchase a new firearm i record that information on that same notepad with all the others, delete my old saved record and email the newly updated notepad to my email and keep it in my saved folder
for me, that's the best way to do it and i never have to worry about losing itOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! FalconLair.

CA DOJ keeps a running inventory of my firearms.Thermidorian Reaction . . Prepare for it.We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying. ~ SolzhenitsynComment

I have DROS and receipts for all of the guns I've purchased in my filing cabinet.
I use EXCEL to keep various lists on my computer. My Gun Distribution List has the make, model, caliber, serial number, date of purchase and which of my kids gets it some day.
