On another note, I added ammo to a gun purchase a few weeks ago, the only way and when I will ever buy ammo in CA anymore.

Yet, in addition to the DROS paperwork of my firearm, it spit out 4 additional sheets of DROS paperwork for me to sign per caliber.

So what do the Democrats say about their complete abhorrent, wasteful, carbon-inducing, tree-killing, repugnant disregard for the environment, climate, and their ideology in Greta's cause by generating so much excess paper waste for something so trite which will not stop any criminal intent on getting ammo... from actually getting ammo?

Not in my case. I was able to buy 6.5CM ammo and don't own a gun with that caliber yet.

pays to have friends outside of California as this place is going to implode with DOJ leading the way. I am waiting for them to ask everyone to turn in their guns so they can match guns to their records and then give them back to you (LOL). as for ammo why do you need ammo if they have all your guns? being led by lemmings right off the cliff and Greta Thunberg will be leading the way singing "we shall overcome."

          Yes. Quantity, type and caliber.

Which is why I will never buy another round of ammo in this state.

It is none of their GD business what I buy and how much.

            On top of Librarian already showing you the letter of the law;

I buy .308 and .45 all the time when I go shoot with my buddies. The guns they have use it and I buy myself rounds for their guns. I have never owned either caliber type of weapons before.

How is there not an emergency injunction on this law, like .gov got a stay with the magazines?
Are there only emergency stays for .gov?

So I received an email saying to check CFARS.

I did and there was a letter from DOJ for Becerra stating the CADOJ has received and processed your electronic submission of the AFS Personal Information Update Application. Your personal information has been updated with the personal information provided on your submission.

So can I go pickup my ammo now?

So Librarian, I think number 1 is why I was denied.

I did not have my current address associated with a firearm that had been registered in the past.

I have not purchased any handgun or long-gun prior to 2014 AND prior to moving into my new residence.

I think that was the issue.

So yesterday I went onto CFARS and entered the info for a handgun on my CCW and entered my new address.

And last night they sent an email stating that it has been updated.

For statistics to support the liberals' notion of the general gun and ammo buying demographic.

                        BS, pure and simple;

All those folks, [est. at 30K] who showed up in Virginia to protest were ignored by the Dems in power.

Just like they are everywhere the Dems are in control.

Address mismatch seems to be the most common problem reported after analysis.

Of course, it does seem that the matching code is inflexible - for example, 'Av' and 'Ave' and 'Avenue' ought to be treated as equivalent. (If they are, it would be polite to tell all the users - because how things go in via DROS and via DMV are not really under user control.) **

But '123 Pine Street, Chico' is never going to match '1763 Skyway, Paradise', so hitting CFARS for an update is often needed.

** If I were writing this comparison code, and I have done such things in the past, I'd start by taking both strings and
                          - change multiple spaces to single spaces
                          - delete all punctuation
                          - convert to all Uppercase
                          - and parse for commonly-used strings and replace with a standard value, for example ' AV ' or ' AVE ' with ' AVENUE '

And, after I had my list of commonly-used strings and standards, I'd kick out most other 'almost matches' for human review; 'North Hathaway-Schopenaur Bridge Place' (or other very long name) might be abbreviated in any number of odd ways.

how did that protest work out in Virginia? did it stop the anti-gun law?

                            oh wait, it didn't??

On February 11th, the House of Delegates voted 51-48 to pass House Bill 961 following fierce opposition from citizens. Michael Bloomberg’s bought and paid for lawmakers have moved HB 961 very quickly. Despite this, Second Amendment supporters have mobilized quickly at each step. HB 961 will now move to the Senate.

i thought just protesting will get those anti-gun legislators to stop their ways...

                              Excellent idea.

The statewide CALPADS student information system requires in the file spec that all name and address information be in the standardized USPS format. All caps, no punctuation, standardized abbreviations, etc.

At the K-8 district where I worked, we adhered to this requirement religiously. It required additional training and constant followup with the data entry people. However, this caused a constant issue with the local high school district our students would transition to.

They felt they did not need to follow the file spec requirement because it wasn't being enforced.

Them: 'Why is all of your student name and address information in all caps?
Me: 'Because it is a CALPADS requirement.'
Them: 'But they don't enforce it.'
Me: 'What if they start enforcing it tomorrow? Wouldn't you prefer to have clean data than have to manually update it all overnight?'
Them: 'We just don't like the way it looks.'

                              Sigh.

If you got a denial, it was most likely for address mismatch or an entry typo by the counterworker.

Did the counterworker perhaps ask you if you own a gun in 6.5 Creedmoor and you told them that you did not and then he simply denied you without even running a check?

I honestly dont know how it was supposed to work back then as no one should be asking you what kind of rifle you own just to buy goddamm ammo, but I was denied nonetheless no matter how the law is written. I got denied, walked out and never went back.
