First, I'm not thin skinned about something like a tip jar. I would simply ignore it unless I wanted to put something in it like a penny and while the counter person was watching. I used to cut penny's in half to leave for a tip when I got bad service, wanna piss off a slug waitress that gives you crappy service leave her 1/2 cent tip. If I get good service the tip can be pretty good, at a gun store they ain't getting a tip unless it's a friend.
