it's amazing how being a member insulates you from that kind of thing.

I was an FT3 member from before they opened their doors, and when I decided to drop that membership (the cost of a 2-person membership got upwards of $800/year IIRC) I stopped going.

To this day, I only know what they charge by-the-visit because someone else here mentioned it. :-)

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

you are part of the 70% of guys on gun forums. you have NEVER done anything wrong in your life or made a mistake, every gun you own shoots 1/4 inch and you only paid 10% of what the gun is worth when you bought it you know everything about shooting and reloading that can ever be learned. egomania at its best. as far as gun safety and the military a lot of people shot training handling guns shooting guys in front of them etc. Col Hackworth wanted the 1911 taken out of service cause of all the guys that shot others and shot themselves and that is only one minor weapon in a giant arsenal

I served 30 years ago; NROTC during my undergraduate years and in the USNR for a few years on graduation. I have been training with small arms for twenty years under an instructor who is both a former marine who served as a weapons instructor in SOCMAU as well as having graduating the Army Ranger course.

You know that run down on range rules you get when you go to a range as first time? Yea pretty much that. I have yet to see soldier shooting wildly during field time, or range, or in combat during my service. And have yet to see a person aiming and shooting toward the ground or ceiling at a indoor range.
Fortunate. I do not think the "shooting wildly at the ceiling" is common either but the ND's into the ceiling are very common (just look at the ceiling...lol) and the result of untrained morons. I doubt the ceiling has the same ballistic resistance as the backstop and rifle rounds create added issues to mitigate.

OC indoor range as well, had good time there + they let you shoot shotguns with your own shells, but no rifles (unless the range isn't busy and you're a trusted patron by one of the managers or LE)
I was referring to an overbearing / consenting attitude I observed on the part of several FT3 RO's but that was on only three visits and it was several years ago. Business and times change.

Thanks for putting me in my place so concisely... (not to mention the incoherent message and lack of grammar but you are certainly on top of your game I am sure. )

            Yeah, I can sympathize ysr

My favorite range has raised prices substantially two times in the last two yrs, the last one was the last straw.

Walked in, seen the new $$, & said were leaving.

Will not return, as the people who opened it are never there, just new people all the time. So yeah, I know, gotta pay um, but I don't have to go, or pay them.

There is a limit, & that has been exceeded.

$20 as long as I want. And they say they offer a free gun cleaning. I have a feeling they just drop it into an ultrasonic tank full of Hoppes.

              Oh, this is in Vegas.

$17 at Riverside Indoor Shooting Range and you can shoot as long as you want.

Shooting is not cheap though. With a $15 range fee and one target... my ammo cost... $60-$100 is pretty typical cost when I go alone. That is cheap ammo I bring with me.
