Long guns (any rifles and shotguns) prior to 2014 will not show up in AFS. All firearms (handguns and long guns) shows up if purchased after 2014.

Bought ammo yesterday. Besides waiting over a hour (long lines) went smoothly and funny thing I wasn't charged the buck for the background check.
        I don't remember the time I was human that's why I don't understand anybody.
The sound of a cat puking is the most effective alarm clock.
There's danger lurking around every corner, that's why I propose we make all of our buildings round.

What does your ccw have to do with your purchasing ammo...seriously just curious...

I am a Range Officer at RRGC and sell ammo. I've had 2 denials out of the roughly 30 people I sold ammo to. Both were unpleasantly surprised and ended up having to go home without shooting since they didn't have any ammo with them.

So RRGC makes you buy ammo using new law to shoot at range?

That's correct. I've read that you don't need to run background but those are the rules that were explained to me by another RO. That being said, he could be wrong and I'm going to verify next week when I volunteer again.

I think the law allows purchases without a background check if the ammo is used up at the range, or any unused ammo is returned to the range.

So how does the background check process work? Is it like a 4473 form you fill out? Or they just swipe your dl and enter the info that way? Never done it, curious.

Ive done 1 ammo purchase after new law. And it was a big 5. They take my DL, ask me if my address is correct, they go back to their room, 5mins later, they tell me to sign a form that looks like the dros form.

Can anyone explain how having a ccw helps with the new background check law in buying ammo??

I already have a C&R FFL, so I opted to get the COE. I just order online from non-CA vendors and have it shipped directly to my door.

Much less hassle and the state doesn't keep a record of what I'm buying.

                              What's that cost to do?

Bought some ammo at Reeds Indoor range and the whole process was less than 10mins. And I did not even shoot there. The wait time was too long on Sat. A long line for getting a shooting lane and also for guns and ammo purchase.
