They just passed SB143 which expands background checks to private sales just like here in CA.

so for all those that moved out to NV, how does it feel to now have to decide to move again in probably 10-20 years? Since now the anti-gun have a taste of victory, they will keep throwing bills out every year.

That said the background check law is meaningless among friends. Just do not sell or trade to strangers, which even states that allow PPT is mostly the case anyway!

Sad state of affairs in NV. I have some good friends who are NV natives, they’ve been saying this was coming since the late 90’s early 2000’s boom. Started with the influx of CA retirees. Now the tech sector expansion into Northern Nevada. It’s not just 2A stuff either.

Legalize weed, work to restrict 2A rights. It’s the Kommiefornia way! Seems to be working there as well.

The good news is if you went or watched the hearing, the pro 2A peeps were out in force, and outnumbered the antis 5-10 to 1.

The fact that they went ahead and passed it shows that they did not care about the peoples will and are ready to sign any anti 2A bill. That is the sad/scary part.

yes, the article did mention the overwhelming pro-2a support compared to the measly anti-2a audience people that showed up.

still, while this law may or may not be struck down before implementation in 2020 it is still a "cut" into the 2a, and the anti-gun side are all about the long game.

there is now blood in the water, and since NV has been turning purple, this win will bolster more to jump in and attack the 2a. especially if during the next election, the same anti-2a politicians are voted back in again. it will show that being anti-2a is a safe position.
