    lost interest

I am 71 and only got into the hobby about eight years ago.I used to go to to all my local gun stores and the Gun shows. I was mostly into WW 2 C&Rs. I had a lot of fun buying C&Rs cash and carry when it was legal.
All these restrictions ruined it for me. I still have a small variety of guns i will keep.
I no longer go to gun shows or buy gun related magazines. Can't remember the last issue of Shot Gun News i bought.I used to buy ammo every pay day.
I force myself to go to the range and i no longer take a gun out and just admire it. All the negativity regarding guns and stupid new gun laws mostly ruined it for me.

I feel you..but..that's how the bastards win and kill the 2nd...I for one refuse to give in..I'll deal with their retard laws..there is always a way around or through them. Maybe you need to sell what you have and go in a new firearm direction..just don't give up..

I would never say something like that without knowing the life history of the individual it was directed at.....

About the same age and time in the gun world. I had planned to drop all my gun mag subscriptions. Then a year ago I moved to NV. Since then I have purchased a Sig P226 Tacops and a FN 509 Tactical and silencers for both. Dropped plans to stop the mag subs.

            Sort of revitalized!

Shotgun News has now changed to Firearm News. I subscribed to shotgun news for the columns which were always relevant to our freedoms. Unfortunately I haven't seen those writers in Firearms News so I do not buy it much.

At this point in life I am not interested in acquiring more guns but I sure enjoy being an NRA Life member and I enjoy shooting too!
We went to our 1st NRA convention and its something I want to do as long as I am able !
Just saying the gun culture is much more than buying stuff!

I’m with you on the magazines. No point in getting constantly reminded of the stuff I can’t have. But I still buy a lot of guns and will keep doing so.

So sorry to here this, at 71 you should feel no remorse, but jubilee in these days, over your fine collection of shootables, & making it this far.
without serious heath problem (I hope)

Don't give in, this prescription should help.

I prescribe 2, that's two shooting days a week with buddies. An repeat as many times as necessary to overcome this stigma.

Idk where you live, but if around my part of the woods, I'd be glade to shoot with you, & help you get passed this issue with dumbtards in CA.

Personally I gave up on the dumbtards, & no longer care what the chronically stupid think, or say, as they don't matter.

Good luck, don't let them win (get you down)

Definitely one of the reasons I moved to Utah.. I'm 67 and have had guns all my life.. My dad gave me his Winchester 94 when I was less than 10. The glory days of the Great Western, B,&B, Army surplus stores in the 50s and 60s... I missed them terribly after they all went down. I would also be very upset and lose interest if I had to stupify my rifles with fins, fixed mags, pinned stocks, etc. Not to mention the roster.. I also maintain an interest in owning guns here in Utah because my kids will inherit them outright.. They can simply take them like any other item..
You like C&R.. At least those don't have to be modified to own.. I remember your recent post about your RIA 1911... Proves you STILL have an interest and you helped organize the Calguns C&R shoots as well.

8 years ago I shot my first gun, and have been pretty hooked since then. The desire to shoot some of my guns isn't the same anymore. BB 1.0 PTR 91 and FAL were fun, the featureless stuff kind of kills it for me.

get over it you will come back, for C+R yeah that's dead but for me its all the crap guns being sold as original.

I'm into M1 carbines and all I see are over priced mix master builds so no joy there.

But I now shoot 1911 on steel targets and is great fun so I drift form on end to the other have a Ruger single action may try cow boy shooting one day always something gun related to try.

Latlety with the ammo shipping buying BS Newscum will be passing so I have been reloading a lot whole new side hooby. Hang in there something new will interest you maybe black powder who knows.

well thats how things go, but this is why you have several hobbies. Beside's school and work I have project motorcycles and enjoy drinking coffee and drawing. Guns are a part of my life and I do have a collection but I shoot once every month or so. I am also one of those super picky people when it comes towards firearms and military surplus equipment and spend months looking for it. once I find what I am looking for I eventually hear or see something else and obsess over that. in your case I dont see it being a problem, you will find a new hobby dude. Oh ps if you decide to get rid of your surplus my home is always open
retreat! we must go comrade we will fight again another day.
