Trying to decide on mags. I'm not a Glock or Ruger pistol owner, so whichever mag I buy will only be for the carbine. In that case, i'm considering just picking up 3-4 Ruger mags, since they seem to be affordable, well-reviewed and made by Mec-Gar, who I've had good success with in the past.
I bought Magpul Glock Pmags (MAG907) for the two carbines my Brother and I have. We don't own any Glocks or Ruger pistols either, we own S&W M&P's. Hopefully either Ruger or an Aftermarket company will eventually come out with a M&P mag adapter.

The Magpul Pmags are 100% reliable in our carbines and cost 1/3 of what Ruger factory or Mec-Gar magazines cost. You can get the Magpul MAG907 mags from Opticsplanet for $12.19 each or $10.97 if you have a 10% discount code. Shipping is free on most orders over $49 and no sales tax.

Very cool back story. Does it have any LE markings?
No LEO markings , I "think" the Dealer said they came from the HWY patrol/State Police in Maine, whatever they are called up there.

Wow, good to know! Thats a smokin’ price. All I was seeing were OEM Glock 19/17 mags for like $35.00 - had no idea Pmags were that much more affordable.

Gotcha - still a very cool background.

I have a 1945 Victory smith and Wesson .38 which was used by a bomber aircrew officer, and then most likely was a cop sidearm post-war. One of my favorites (besides the fact that it's a tackdriver) because of the history of the piece.

Opticsplanet actually carries two 10 round Pmags that will work. The MAG907 is for the Glock 19 and the MAG801 is for the Glock 17. The MAG801 is about 1/2" longer at five inches. They're the same price - $12.19.

Would you recommend that extra length to make it easier to change mags?

For example, I really like the length of a 10/20 blocked Pmag vs. the length of a 10 rounder. Just easier for my XL mitts to grab onto.

It's only half an inch difference between the two mags. The slightly shorter MAG907's work fine for us - they drop free with no hesitation and stick out enough to grab easily but we don't have huge hands.

I'm curious also. Since it's basically a 10/22 action, and I think after all the years making those they've pretty much figured it out.

Dammit - I remember stumbling across that video awhile back but forgot about it. I just sold the Ruger magazine too but I think I might be able to borrow one from a guy I know locally to use for measuring in the modification process.
