Gun owner or not. Irrelevant! It was still voted on. In fact most people who voted for these types of laws were NOT gun owners. That's our democracy: don't have to know nuttin about the issue but ya get to vote on it anyway.

If you want cheap ammo to use at the range, roll your own. Google "Hammond Game Getter".

Well said. Can't go backwards anyway, so let's concentrate on going forward with more on board.

Inevitably, after the past 4 years of outrageous infringing laws having been passed, there will be plenty more people in the near future that will suddenly come of age or interest in gun ownership.

Due to that, I expect Calguns' membership to grow (which has waned lately due to disgust or gun-owners simply leaving California).

These "newbies" will not only be shocked by the oppression of their rights they thought they always had because they simply deferred to the 2nd Amendment being in force no different than for their rights to free-speech, religion, or racial equality, but may even be ashamed for having been apathetic about their 2nd Amendment rights for so long, having assumed that the NRA and gun owners were making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

Once educated, once it's on their plate, I care not what their apathy did in the past so long as they don't nurture it further.

In most cases, I've seen such people then do a 360, and offer a whole lot more toward fighting for 2nd Amendment rights and support the NRA, getting better educated on the issues, than most lifelong gun owners. Whether it's to make up for their errors or time-lost, matters not.

What is it you think you need to understand about the newish ammo laws? Currently, there is no background check required. In July 2019, a background check will be required. That's it.

But, thanks for bringing us back on track with this insightful input.

You're new here, and eventually what you will learn is that 90% of the posts are "opinionated bickering".

(BTW, I left some "opinionated bickering" at your erroneous post regarding number of guns allowed on CA licenses.....You're welcome.)

And, welcome to CalGuns; interesting first two posts....

does anybody predict a ammo shortage shortly before July 2019?

will ammunition sales fly off the shelves again? remember the empty ammo shelves? and 2 box limit on handgun ammo?

In previous testimony to the Senate, Senator Leon made it clear that middle-aged white males were (profiled) expected to purchase large quantities of ammunition.

However, he expressed significant concern over young, Hispanic females....

Just a little tidbit of the lying stupidity behind some of this stuff.

just ran into a guy the other day who wanted cheap handguns in specific caibers due to the fact the handguns he has in those calibers arent registered to him/ hes owned them for many years. i said why? and he said under the upcoming ammo laws next year you can no longer purchase ammo unless you have firearms registered to you in those calbers. i told him that wasnt the case and he insisted it was , so i said ok then buy away, lol.

Exactly what the Socialists want to hear, that their subterfuge is working on the Peoples' psyche to embellish the laws further than they are even able to reach.

Some popular examples I've heard over the years:

".50BMG ammunition is illegal in California."

"Handguns chambered in any .50 caliber cartridge are illegal in California"

"Threaded muzzles are illegal on semi-automatic rifles in California" (likely a carry-over from the Clinton ban 1994-2004).

"You need a permit to own a gun in California" (likely because this is incorrectly and repeatedly said in films and TV shows).

"You have to pass a background check to buy ammo" .... see how that works? They make the assumption so much part of the FUD fabric it eventually becomes a bill, then some knucklehead thinks "I thought that was already the law" and then votes for Prop 63.
