Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

Personally OP I don't think its going to happen. NY still hasn't gotten their system up to my knowledge. Also this is just another lawsuit that Cali will lose. The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!Comment

Thanks man CBRs are cool i have an 06 Zx10R myself! Whooo! While yes, the OP's lack of knowledge/lack of caring to vote in the last election cycle is textbook example of why our Republic is in such a sorry state, the fact of the matter is now it appears he is starting to learn "what's really going on" and hopefully his civic engagement will change for 2018.
Welcome to Calguns in all its glory, OP. If you are new to firearms, best advice I can give you is practice safe shooting habits, try out different firearms to see what you enjoy shooting, and once you purchase some firearms that you enjoy shooting save up the cash and ammo for good training courses.
As for the background checks... they will solve next to nothing crime-wise but will be one more roadblock for the law abiding.

Welcome Erik!
As a relatively new firearm owner, I am right there with you in regards to just now seeing how nonsensical this state's gun laws are. They have little or nothing to do with keeping people safe or keeping guns or ammunition from criminals (why would anyone think that making more laws would do anything to deter behavior of those who break the existing laws?). They are more about making legal gun ownership more difficult, which will deter people who are not very dedicated or serious about it.
As far as these negative comments go, it seems like you are letting them roll off you, good job. I'm sure anyone on here is glad that now there is another person who will be voting "pro 2A" and "pro liberty." Better late than never!Matt
John 3:17-18 - For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (NKJV)Comment

When I turned 21, the waiting period was 15 days for a handgun.
When called and directly asked, the DOJ would not answer the question if you had to already BE 21 to start a DROS or only to take possession of a handgun from a dealer.
So I started my DROS 14 days before my birthday so I could pick up on my birthday.
They kicked back the DROS.
We re-ran the DROS on my 21st birthday and it went through fine.
That was my second handgun.
My uncle bought my first handgun a few years earlier and kept it in his possession until I was 21 and we could PPT it to me.
I did a lot of shooting with my uncle between 18 and 21...Randall Rausch

OK so not sure I fundamentally understand how this is going to work.
Is there a link somewhere on this site that succinctly illustrates how this is supposed to work?
For example I go to the local range where they sell ammo, how does that work (or will that even be possible given the range office consists of a stack of ammo, some paper targets, a 15 year old NCR cash register, and a telephone)?
Will there be a program sort of like TSA fast lane (we know this person is good, go ahead and sell) or does ammo seller need to run a check on me every time?
If I go buy ammo at Big 5?
I have not bought ammo for awhile as I stocked up but eventually I will need to replenish. Wondering what I am in for.Comment

It would be hilarious if it wasnt so pathetic. Most people are clueless when it comes to their rights and how politicians are doing everything they can to strip them. I guess ignorance really is bliss. People are more interested in the next new smart phone thats coming out.CRPA and NRA member.
Note that those who have repeatedly expressed enough vile and incoherent content as to render your views irrelevant, have been placed on my ignore list. Thank you for helping me improve my experience and direct my attention towards those who are worthy of it. God bless your toxic little souls.Comment

To the OP, you've obviously sensed some bitterness on this topic. To some, that you didn't participate (for whatever reason) in trying to block that stupid legislation seems to make you as guilty as if you actually voted for it. Fortunately not all CG'ers think like that. Hopefully you'll take that frustration to heart when it comes time to cast future ballots to protect our 2A rights.
Good luck with your new purchases and hope to see you active on CG.NRA Certified Instructor: Basic Pistol ShootingComment

If the democrats had their way... >>> When at the range, you buy a bullet. Fill out the paperwork. Submit the paperwork. Wait. Wait some more. Yay!, an approval. Now go to your shooting lane where you may load your handgun, aim and fire that bullet. Now repeat the process.OK so not sure I fundamentally understand how this is going to work.

I think next year the legislature will want an environmental impact report on the results of each bullet striking the paper target. Be prepared to inventory and justify exactly which tree died so your bullet could maim that innocent paper!NRA Certified Instructor: Basic Pistol ShootingComment

I dont see the need to respond to every single person that's repeating the same exact thing the person(s) before them wrote. This is the net i respond as you can see to the one's the write/talk like they have some respect. I dont do the back forth thing with men who have women like traits [emoji23]To the OP, you've obviously sensed some bitterness on this topic.
