It's the same plan they are working with the safe handgun roster.
At some point, the DOJ will say that all grandfathered exemptions to the loaded chamber indicator and microstamping requirements are no longer valid and that all manufacturer's have to re-apply to get on the roster.
How many guns will be able to make their way on to the roster after that?

You didn't need to be a gun owner to vote in the general election on the ammo background check proposition in Nov 2016. You either didn't vote or didn't bother to read any of the propositions. So the other poster's comment was far from stupid.

Welcome to the forum there's lot's of laws, gotcha laws, real sneaky, tricky, devious you have to be careful. It brings out the bitterness in folks because it's total "BS' when it comes to your 2nd amendment rights. Lot's of good information and people on the forum.

Certainly some sad times ahead if ppl keep voting the way they have been while being misled by liberals.

The majority of voters don't read the ballot measures beyond the titles before voting.

                      Safe handgun act of 2020.

                      Sure, we must need that.

Self-righteous jerks treating new members like crap is a great way to grow the gun culture.
Get it through your heads! The OP wasn't into guns, now he is. Do you want him to join the fight for your rights or do you want to drive him to the sidelines or worse, into the antis camp?

Curious how it's going to work? It's not! At least not in our favor.

BTW, I voted. I always vote pro-gun and have since I have been able to vote. With very very very rare exceptions I vote no taxes, no bonds, no increase in government, no "it's for the children" laws. Any ballot measure that is poorly written gets "NO". I read a lot and spend a lot of time reading both sides of most issues -- except restritive gun laws -It's always NO! What part of ... the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed - is so hard for people to understand? <-- rhetorical question - no need to answer.

While yes, the OP's lack of knowledge/lack of caring to vote in the last election cycle is textbook example of why our Republic is in such a sorry state, the fact of the matter is now it appears he is starting to learn "what's really going on" and hopefully his civic engagement will change for 2018.

Welcome to Calguns in all its glory, OP. If you are new to firearms, best advice I can give you is practice safe shooting habits, try out different firearms to see what you enjoy shooting, and once you purchase some firearms that you enjoy shooting save up the cash and ammo for good training courses.

As for the background checks... they will solve next to nothing crime-wise but will be one more roadblock for the law abiding.

Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.
