I always thought people joined the NRA so that they could give money to a good cause? What is the point of joining for free? You're only taking resources that could be used elsewhere.

Is everyone sure this is free, and not sign now, pay later?
I looked, and I did not see where it says free membership."If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."

I just signed up a bunch of family and friends that I was planning on paying for their memberships. Saved me a bunch...

Agreed, but bailouts and handouts are all the rage these days.

I'm sure you get the mailers asking to donate $25, $50, $75, etc. or whatever you can afford. I imagine that is where the bulk of their funds come from.
Last year I sent over $500 in donations from those mailers...

IF the leftist lies are exposed to non-members, maybe they will become paid members later. I personally think most people believe the 2nd protects our rights to own guns. The problem is that they have no idea how big the "reasonable" lie is. Preaching to the choir is pretty much useless in the long run.
The money we send to the NRA is obviously useful in the battle but, the real power is in the number of members behind them.
