Got my confirmation online. When I went to register my mebership online, I went to Member services and it said something like no magazine selected so I clicked on "change your magazine" and selected American Rifleman. I'm hoping this will allow me to get their magazine if it does I'll let everyone know.

Yes! It does work if you change your magazine selection. I got my card on monday and my American Rifleman today. So even if it didnt give you an option when you signed up you can change it.

              I did the free year.

And now paying for it with junk mail, all from the nra or another part of it,

Asking for money I do not have.

Hmm..I don't seem to be getting any junk mail at all. Other than the few American Rifleman mags that I selected, the membership letter, and a letter I recieved beforehand, no junk mail. However, I do recieve an e-mail every other week that I just browse and delete.

I've heard horror stories of phone calls and junk mail though and that was from paying members. I've decided to pay for my next membership (and then some) one this one's up.

I do beleive that when you go to member services you have an option to opt out of the mailings but still receive your magazine.

If they would offer a resenable price just maybe they would get a lot of sign ups???

Yeah, its pretty bad, but, you have an option of paying 25 bucks, every 3 months. It would take 10 years to pay for it though!
