Glocks are EASY to fire / shoot - ( read that again ), which means they go Bang 90 + % of the time when you need them to fire.
But, if you are not careful and / or do not have a quality holster that covers the trigger guard - guess what ; Glocks are unforgiving if you carelessly depress the trigger.
Listen, i grew up shooting all wood and steel handguns. - Colt 1911's ( series 70 gold cups- comandante, and commanders), s&w revolvers and pistols, browning T series Hi Powers, and when i first picked up a Glock i didn't really like/shoot them well.
I have shot gen 1, 2, and now 3 series Glocks, and i shoot them way better because i grew into the design.
They are durable, hold a good amount of ammo ( fn California messed up the capacity of the magazines ), are lightweight, and there is a large aftermarket support system for most any model / caliber.
I personally like all Glock 9mm's and 45 models next.
I own many H&K pistols - the P7M8 is the most accurate pistol i shoot, followed by the H&K USPc45, and then in 3rd place is my Glock 30 & Glock 26.
I'm not saying that Glocks are incredible pistols, but they work very well, and you should be aware that they need to be handled with your full attention - follow the basic firearm rules and you'll be gtg.
I know that there may ( may ) ! Be better models of modern pistols out there- but Glock is the standard to which most of those uber special handguns are measured up against.

Glocks mostly work, issues with 10 round mags and hollow points. With the crippled magazine capacity in California they loose their primary advantage.
They are blocky, bland, have poor triggers and a large percentage of the people using Glocks didn't buy them. If you like shooting a Glock buy it and enjoy.sigpicComment

For me, its because no one makes a more reliable 10mm.
Then there is also this.

GSSF is $35 for one year; $60 for two. With the two-year, you get a Blue Label discount card immediately and a another card at the beginning of the second year.Comment

The Honda analogy is dead on. Right up to the ricers who put silly 6-foot fins on the trunk. And an 8-inch clamp-on exhaust tip.I am fairly new to guns and have been following this forum for a while. Overall, Glocks appear to have the biggest fan base than any other brand. Like I said, I am fairly new to the sport, but I just don't see the fascination of Glocks.
I asked one of my LGS and the gentleman said they are like Hondas (implying great, reliable, comfortable, affordable and not very exciting). So, please let me know what I have failed to understand about Glocks. I have an itch to make a purchase and would be open to purchasing a Glock.
That said, it is a plastic-framed bullet dispenser. It is, in it's stock form, ultra reliable. It is also relatively affordable assuming you are not going for something off-roster. If you use it to protect yourself, you won't cry when it's taken away and stored in a 100% humidity evidence room for a year.

As other have said.. they don’t rust.... they have 1/2 the parts of a 1911 - lest moving parts- less to break.
they don’t rust
They fire even when very dirty
The magazines do not wear out
Lots of holster options

Do you ever see people driving a REALLY ugly car and wonder, who would buy that thing. Did they lose a bet? Those are Glock owners.Comment
