For the record free states are run by Republicans and only Republicans ! Many of whom are conservatives!

Let's also not forget the "dinosaur establishment" is also the one that fought tooth and nail to prevent Heller from going up the the Supreme Court.

Of course they did. Heller was nowhere near a slam-dunk, and the NRA knew that. Far better to wait for a favorable court and a reasonable chance for victory than push your luck. As it turned out, Heller was won 5 to 4. After over 200 years, ONE person got to decide what the Second Amendment was all about. If it had gone the other way, it would have been a disaster beyond measure.

I haven't been a member since 2014 or so. Only reason I joined was to shoot PRS at the Sac Valley range up in Sacramento maybe once or twice because it was required to shoot the 1000yd range. Other than that, I would never re-up unless Adam Kraut gets elected and the swamp gets drained.

I was born in a free state. Not cali and I returned to my place of birth cause of the BS fake Cali politics that make it suck. Just like the NRA with its old BS leaders that decided to give up on a small, tiny freedom to save some face. Hammer and her people had there time but just like when the Tea Party came to wipe away the RINOS like Mittens and Bush the same needs to happen the NRA. Clean house and lets start getting freedoms back. Another turn over like in the late 70s needs to happen again.

I became a life member in 2011 and now I see them for what they are. A little greedy like the NAACP and the ACLU. Both started off well enough but clearly lost there way. We need to get the NRA back on our side for real. To valuable a weapon to just drop on the ground and leave.

As a lifer in the NRA and remembering Charlton Heston and the good old days. The struggle is real and has been since the 60's when gov started to control guns. It is time for NRA members to vote for the new board. However the coup begins in elections of gov officials passing the anti 2nd amendment violations....

It's easy to take the "do nothing unless..." position because you never have to actually do anything, it's a self fulfilling prophecy.

Here are my thoughts on the election, FWIW:

- I didn't know who Adam Kraut was until I saw Marion Hammer's letter. It didn't take me long to figure out that he was the target. I can also tell you that based on what I see, he has my vote. Marion's letter is probably doing Adam a lot of favors, who barely missed the cut in last year's vote. (And don't get me wrong, I have no issue with Marion, except for her recent attendance record. I can see why she wasn't pleased with him releasing those details).

- Speaking of attendance records, I was quite disturbed to see the celebrity board members with horrible attendance. Ted Nugent, often the highest vote-getter, never there. Selleck, mostly absent. Even Gunny was pretty spotty. Perhaps we need honorary directorships, but these guys just aren't doing any of the dirty work. Just affirms why I don't ever vote for the celebs.

- I have always done a form of bullet-voting. As above, there are plenty of folks who vote for the celebs and they will always get in. But by voting for only one or two candidates, and encouraging others to do the same, we have a better chance of getting the lesser-known names in. Like Joel Friedman.

- Even though Joel is in Nevada now (and god bless him for getting out), he is still California's best voice. His roots are here and he has done a lot. I believe Kim Rhode deserves our vote, too. She will do very well for us.

I never voted for Nugent. Never liked that draft dodging pedo and his crassness.

Gun control keeps the NRA's coffers full. There is no real i terest in getting rid of gun control as that would mean the end of the NRA. But you know keep beleiving they care about your rights

I’ve always voted for the celebrities, they have a voice that can be heard, and the sheeple will follow them. Or at least hear them out...

I also put women at the top of the list. we need to lose the grey hair, white guy image the NRA has
