I have determined that Sacramento is PRO GUN
They pass laws that make us buy more ammo
They pass laws that make us buy more guns
If all guns were cash and carry with no restrictions, we would all own many less than we own now. Same for ammo.
They must love people exercising their 2nd Amendment. They want us to have more.
(The only logical conclusion)Comment

Define 'hoarding'.
My parents grew up during the Great Depression and WWII, and learned the value of stocking up in case of hard times. That is not 'hoarding'. That is 'wisdom'. There is a huge difference.Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.Comment

I have a few rounds for each of my guns in my meager collection. Of course my
Interpretation of a few and meager is different than most. If I remember right, the building codes for American cities are all in the range (I am not a lawyer or contractor) of 40lbs/sqft, evenly distributed. (it gets to be less if the room is particularly large with an unsupported floor span)
I also found this: https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Am...ers/16-628973/
i haven't verified the #'s, but the numbers for a full can are in the right ballpark for our purposes.
So, assuming you spread the cans evenly across the entire room, multiply length x width, and that's about how many ammo cans you can have in the room. It's higher if you put them all against the wall, or if there is a supporting structure in the middle of the floor.NRA Patron Member

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.
I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.
I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.Comment

according to this random-but-seeemingly-trustworthy website, it's 40lbs. 30 in bedrooms!
That is "live load", though... so there must be some extra weight allowance for "dead" loads.

...and, reassuringly I just read the rating per sqft is for every sqft in the room...so a single point load is significantly highersigpic
