Did you order primers, powder, and bullets ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Get a couple of reloading manuals too, while you're at it. Save you from making mistakes

I'm new to reloading too. From other sites/forums, here are some
really good references materials. Much of this info not on the Internet.

While I suspect the number of folks that don't reload now will increase because of the law limits I don't think that's going to be a whole lot of people.

Those that already shoot a lot have probably crossed the line to reloading.

Those that haven't are going to find there is a learning curve, and they have to be willing to take the journey along that curve.

It's not "hard", but it's time consuming to reload and quality check your process to get you on par with the reliability of factory ammo.

you can reload later. buy ammo now! it's so cheap, its almost not worth loading plinking ammo.

California needs brass! bringing it in, keep it in

That law won't be ready by January 1st. CA will add an extention like they did for RAW's.

well....it took me almost a week to get the RCBS up and running....sort of. broke two primer transfer trays and the shell plate advance bar. Called RCBS and they immediately sent out replacement parts...slept on it for a few days then called Midway to take this POS back...which they did...or at this point will and then immediately called Dillon and ordered the xl650.

What a nightmare. The minute I unboxed the RCBS and saw the plastic parts I knew I was in for trouble. I'm technically inclined so after the transfer bars broke I modified them and dropped in a solid roll pin and then it worked great...until the shell plate advance bar broke...then I was done.

Oh well...the Dillon only cost a few more dollars so chalk it up as a learning experience. Can't wait to get the 650 set up...plus I like blue better than green

I really like my RCBS, but Dillon is several steps above, good choice. I have never broken anything on my RCBS but also load only one caliber on it, my 650 loads everything else.

None of the reloading components have been banned yet.
Focus on ready to go, commercial ammo for now. Especially .22LR.
Next year will be the reloader stock-up.

I have a great setup to reload about fifteen different calibers with all the components in the garage. A few years ago I was reloading quite a few rounds. This year I didn't load anything. Ammo is cheap enough right now that it is not worth what I would save. I have been stocking up on all the rounds I shoot so that I have a decent supply and lots of brass when I need it. Next year I will probably be reloading again as I think the cost to buy it will go up a lot once the internet is shut down. Time to stock up is now while it's cheap.

Get ready to reload now but keep buying loaded ammo for the brass until the new law sets in. Then start stockpiling components for when the state realizes too many people are producing dangerous home made untraceable ammo.
