    a poor gift at that.

how about instead of spending all that lawyer fees and donated that money to a pro-2a lawyer group in CA to help fight the laws instead of making what is effectively a giant gimmick that would barely sell and most CA gun owners would barely ever see, nor even know about. but will put anti-2a groups to rally against a new "evil sniper rifle" that is "silenced" and put anti-2a politicians to write even more stupid laws.

*Note that I do not own a Silencerco can, or any of thier other products, not because I would not want to, but because I just happened to like the SRT and Gemtech products a little better. Still they are good people fighting the good fight while MANY other suppressor manufacturers are silently withholding support for the HPA and other efforts to deregulate suppressors because those manufacturers feel like their product markup will be diminished if just anybody can buy one. Silencerco and some others are fighting for YOUR RIGHT to own a muffler for your gun so you can shoot without going deaf or having the Sheriff called when you want to go shoot out in the woods.

They deserve our support, not derision and apathy.
If that's true, let's hear their position. By this I mean their response to the California statutes.

I try to keep an open mind, but not so open that my brain falls out.

I've seen a couple of smart enterprising folks who have developed legal methods of circumventing California statutes. The "Bullet Button" is at the top of my list. But there's a lot more folks who have either ignored California law in favor of federal law, or have tried to push the envelope of California law to market their product. Methinks SilencerCo fits the second group.

But keep a couple of points in mind:

      1) Relying on the mistaken advice of legal counsel isn't a defense to a general intent crime in California (there is some case law allowing this defense as to specific intent crimes). All of the violations we're discussing here are general intent crimes.

      2) SilencerCo makes money off their product.

      3) They don't go to jail for violating California law, their customer is the one going to jail.

I can see exactly how open your mind is. IN any case, none of this matters to me, although I will likely pick one of these up for next hunting season as not only are suppressors deregulated in TN at the State level, but they are perfectly legal for hunting.

I have noted how supportive CA gun owners are of thier gun laws. As a community, you could not even get enough signatures to put up a fight against the gunmageddon legislation.

Actually, it's illegal even to simply possess within California. There's no federal law violation with the product, but California is different.

Please see the original thread on this subject for the details.
