That is basically what they told me this morning as well. It has been postulated that Silencerco knew this would happen and this is a tactic to spark support for the upcoming proposals.

In any case, I agree with them-

    FIGHT THE NOISE!
Fear is the spare change that will keep you broke

Call him run-like-hell-when-shtf-guy or dial-911-guy but NEVER call an unarmed man "Security".

I'm glad to see them buck the system of tyranny, the NFA is a load of BS, so is the CA DOJ as well as most Federal three letter organizations which are built on corruption, lies, & only look to fleece the American taxpayer.

And watch the documentary A Good American currently on Netflix.

Just funny that the state had time to send them threatening correspondence. They were probably just ask anxiously waiting for the 19th.

"Do it for the children!" God forbid we have a muzzle loading antique with a can on it.

As of today it's 47 state legal.

So far it's not legal in CA, MA, and NY.

It also appears there may be a few more States (CT, HI, MD, NJ) that are also starting to say that it is illegal under their laws.

[QUOTE=dwalker;20665863]I bet it is welded, which means it needs to soaked to clean. Many suppressor owners use a mixture of 50/50 peroxide and white vinegar or other solvents to dissolve lead and carbon residue in welded cans. It is actually very common.

DWalker - I'm sorry reality disappointed you, but really, you should be upset with Silencerco for getting your hopes up. A FELONY is a FELONY. Calguns is simply trying to keep it's members from getting into trouble. AND they WOULD with this product. Would you have preferred that a bunch of CA saps bought this thing, take it out to the range and some of them get arrested and charged with LIFE ALTERING felonies? I hope that's not your goal.

Yes, we here in CA are down trodden, and yes, we have learned to be VERY cautious about new products. That is a fact of life here in occupied CA It comes with the territory. Hint for the future: next time you see a really cool and innovative firearm or accessory and you wonder if it is CA legal. Go for ILLEGAL. You are FAR more likely to be correct.

I have not actually bought one yet, although I did make an order I have not yet sent the money. The problem is I am in CA for at least the 15th of Oct before I return to TN, so I am leery of having anything shipped there while I am gone.

I did vote for the TN HPA actually, and it did go through, and now suppressors are decriminalized in my home state. See how it works is, you guys are decriminalizing pot but suppressors are still illegal, we decriminalized suppressors and pot is still illegal. Seems like you guys have gone the wrong direction...

If I was a typical CA gun owner I would have stayed home and not voted for the HPA, making the excuse that we never win and the system is rigged and ll that other horse excrement, and then pounced on anyone who dared post any kind of workaround to the repulsive Draconian laws you all so swiftly quote.

But hey man, you can surf and ski in the same day, all I can do is shoot a machine gun, a Barrett 50, and my suppressed weapons in the same hour. You got me bro, you really got me.

I've legally done similar in CA. Well, not a Barrett because, I prefer precision 50s over 2moa ones.

If anyone cares, heres a reply i got back from feinstein about my support of the HPA a while back. Random comments about firearms deaths blah blah blah.

                              Dear ______:

Thank you writing to express your support for the use of silencers and noise suppressors on firearms. I appreciate hearing from you, and I welcome the opportunity to share my perspective.

I understand that you support the “Hearing Protection Act of 2015” (H.R. 3799), which was introduced by Congressman Matt Salmon (R-AZ) on October 22, 2015. Currently, this legislation is under consideration in both the House Committee on Ways and Means and the House Committee on the Judiciary. I understand that you support this bill because it would exempt firearm silencers from federal laws under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (Public Law: 73-474). This law tasks the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) with regulating short-barreled shotguns, heavy explosives, and silencers because of the lethal nature of these devices and destructive capacity they have.

I support an individual’s Second Amendment right to own a gun and I recognize that there are many law-abiding gun owners who use guns in a safe manner for activities such as hunting, sport, or for self-defense. However, I also strongly agree with the enforcement of federal gun laws which require the regulation of firearm silencers. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year over 30,000 people are killed with a firearm in the United States, and another 60,000 wounded. I believe that removing firearm silencers and other devices that can make firearms more lethal from ATF regulation would disadvantage the safety of our communities.

It is helpful for me to hear your perspective on this issue, and I will be mindful of your thoughts should the “Hearing Protection Act of 2015” come before me in the Senate. I hope you will continue to keep me informed on issues of importance to you. If you have any additional comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841.

                              Sincerely yours,

                              Dianne Feinstein
