Smith & Wesson model 686. Not the cheapest one out there but definitely one of the best

S&W L Frames and the Ruger GPs are much too heavy than need be for someone concerned with wrist-breaking recoil.

Save your money. After you send a few hundred 38 Specials down range with 4 inch K Frame smith & weasel those heavy framed 38s will do well for a fishing weight and you will need some bucks for a new revolver.

It is shooting, it's all fun.

The new model S&W 66 has ball-detent front yoke cylinder lock up and the K frame it is built on, is slightly larger then previous K frames. The 4.25" barrel is a handy length.

627 PC 8 rounds of 357, good weight and great barrel length 2 5/8. Just long enough for a full length ejector. Also cut for moon clips. All around my favorite 357.
