I recently saw two Long Beach PD officers carrying Kimber 1911s, locked and cocked. One officer was a female, and she was hot!

Life can make you do many things, even kiss a man with a runny nose.

Its current for the last couple of pages

Last class of 3 month training in 67, is when I went on...I was not issued the Beretta or the Glocks... I kept up with them, and changed as they did...

Don't think any Revolvers are carried now, time ran out about 5 years ago for that one, talked to a Sgt. (he was working Rampart and was going to retire out with his 6") Saw him at a 114 picnic about the same time as mentioned. He was very confident in his ability to shoot.
Not an issue he mentioned. Drove the correct vehicle while on duty and had a back up, current issue

      Regards,

My guess would be a Glock 22 40 cal. would have been the weapon of choice then, unless, wanted a 9mm

Yes they do...They did a few years ago also. Wonder what will happen when the Chief leaves, the new Chief will have look see I have a feeling.

Glock was Bratton's choice on the East coast also. Any inside information, about who might be his replacement???

I personally feel there are better models for Police...But then I carry mine empty chamber now as a rule (retired)

                    The Benelli, which one?

37 was, and is my favorite...Liked the way they functioned.

Interesting the LA area, both county and city, that was the one for a very long time. Kept the company alive

Hes fleeing in a vehicle. That makes him a fleeing felon. A vehicle is considered a weapon when used as such. Thus hes an armed felon. Hes putting the lives of officers and bystanders in danger.

In the UK the brits would all speed up then suround someones vehicle with 4 vehicles and stop em and they are pretty good at it. I bet the deparment takes payouts from the news crews to drag it on longer.
how the hell would you propose doing this?

As far as calling 911...I've never had to in my life. If I have a real emergency, I don't think it will wait around 10 mins. while I call for help. That's why I own a firearm.

edit: I take it back. I did call 911 last year when there was a flat tire blocking a lane on the highway. Somebody has to go clean it up, right?
you should have cleaned it up. that's what good citizens do.

haha, you'll find those on calguns that don't like firemen either.

Like is not a concern when getting into that/those professions. Goes with the territory. Some really appreciate...

Be surprised how many do, when in the "Neighborhood Watch" progam, that was up and running early 70's. The PR was terriffic.
