      Easiest topic- WWI.

Lots of stuff can be found on the topic easily that most people don't know.

You can sound like a subject matter expert after a simple Ebsco/Academic Search Premier search.

In all seriousness, I've always found that it is easiest to write a paper when I don't care about the topic.
Because then you don't get into stuff of excluding sources because they don't agree with your views, or setting up weak strawmen.
Just write based on facts you can find, and maybe by the time you're done you can develop your own opinions on the matter.

I went back to college/CSU and had to take the English Placement Test to verify I could write well.

The available choices included the death penalty. I took the little blue writing pamphlet and wrote out an outline on the inside cover, including pros, cons, and such.

I pretty much used 3/4 of the pamphlet to advocate the death penalty and rumor control (you never know the real score) let me know the result.

                        I killed it.

How about all the nuclear bombs the United States has lost over the years or some of the events that led to unrecovered nuclear bombs over the years. Not many people know about that.

How about the cleanup of the nuclear wasteland on the Columbia river in Washington?

                          how about the demon core?

Oh, I know a good one: SL-1 It is the first nuclear meltdown in America. When the core blew, a giant dart-like thing pinned a guy to the roof of the building. They couldn't find him. They couldn't take one guy to the hospital, who was still alive, because the radio activity in him was too high. He died in an ambulance sitting on the road.

My son had a California history class that was basically a class in how the white man is evil. Seeing who much BS it was I did all of my son's reports for him really turning up the "white guilt" and oppression stuff. Made up everything basically and he got all As in the class.
