I know; I have a scam-artist brother like that. And he's in the perfect business - auto repair. His favorite saying is, "I f--- everybody."
Not saying OP has a past due bill. I was saying he should google one to point out that everyone has things going on. One sob story to the next. This guy will never pay but if it were me I would spend 10-15 min/day contacting his peeps. I may even create my first FB account.

        And the wait begins... again.

Hopefully, the GC community can offer some good fillers while we wait for the next episode.

I tried with the law enforcements, and they won't do anything about it. And I don't have much hope on getting the money back, but at least I keep annoying him every day or months, and it's a lesson learned for me, and maybe for someone else.
          Thanks, Benji

Yeah, for me, I'd definitely keep annoying him and relatives alike.....he brought that on himself. Letting him skate free as "YOU learn a lesson" is bullsheit.

You need to go the legal route. He is a scammer and full of ****. Sue, get the judgement, get a levy placed on his back account and holdings until such judgment is paid.

If you have to goto AZ, keep EVERY hotel and gas receipt and go after ALLLL of it to recoup it!

Stop dickin around with this guy.

Just my $.02 worth. You don't need his "real" address to sue him. You can use the address or addresses he gave you and send him a certified later with return receipt requested. You can also send the service papers to his relatives if you have their addresses. And then you can text him a PDF of the service papers. I'm sure he will respond to complain or laugh or whatever. Print out the text with the service and his response as well as proof of mailing everything to all of the different addresses you have. Explain to the judge that you did all this because you had no other way to find him. As long as you show a good faith effort to serve him the judge can waive the service requirement. Don't give up. Good luck!

If you find his car you can let the sheriffs know and they should come impound it (not sure if this works in this case, but find out). If you happen to know his location, I think the sheriff or somebody can come serve court papers that he's being sued.
A private investigator will most likely find this scum and you'll be good from there.

                          $400 bucks? Not worth it.

If you can find him a FTF discussion is warranted.
