I just bought my wife a SP-101 2" .357 for Christmas. Now I find myself shooting that more than any of my semi-autos. I want one now in a very bad way.

Looks like I'll get me a Blackhawk in .357 (have my eye on a 50th, or a 1976,) or a Vaquero with old style finish. Then I'll probably pick up a Marlin 1894C in .357. Three guns, one box of ammo, one cartridge to reload. Perfect!
The CalGunner formerly known as 'OrovilleTim' before defecting to a free state and becoming an 07/02.
Like me or not, I can legally build and possess machine-guns which will always make me cooler than you!

I like my semi's, but I LOVE my wheel guns!!

My first gun was a S&W 686 P+ (.357 mag 7 shot). If I could only keep one gun in my safe that would be the one... and not just because it was my first, but because I'm the best shot with it, plus I can shoot .38's out of it if needs be.

          S&W-Family.sm.w.jpg

I also have a good selection of semi-auto handguns, but for all the same reasons stated above by others, I love my revolvers!

          Bryan500atRange.01.w.jpg

          Bryan500atRange.02.w.jpg

Plus... it's not often you get this kind of reaction (from a kid or an adult) with a semi! (Of course that beast there is a S&W 500 and my son is about 12 in that pic!)
If you know how many guns you have... you don't have enough guns.

People need to remember that the same guys who wrote the 1st Amendment, also wrote the 2nd Amendment... and for the same exact reasons.

I think the revolveriscenti will be alive and strong for another 300 years *at least*, and here's why:
            • They will simply last longer than their Poly cousins. We still see 1-Gen Colt SAA's for sale; just imagine how much better my stainless 627 is gonna hold up over the centuries. We do understand how steel ages over long periods of time; I don't think we understand how plastic does just yet.
            • They will be the last handguns ever banned (even in some future bizarro world where Heller gets reversed). First to come, last to leave.
            • They tend to attract more serious collectors and gunnies. I love polymer pistols - I think the natural efficiencies of the gun industry have produced a bunch of really, really awesome and innovative (and consistent!) firearms. But they don't have the individual quirks or the all-steel heft of a modern revolver.
            • You've got a whole lot more big-bore options in a revolver than a semi.

I love my revolvers but prefer shooting my variety of
semi's since the semi's are easier to clean.

But I'll probably start shooting with some of my revolvers
since I won't have to chase around to recover my brass
                    for reloading.
