However... try checking a firearm at JFK or LaGuardia. Port Authority will be on your *** so fast.

All commercial civilian airports in the US are locally owned except one (Reagan National). Due to Federal law, airlines cannot ban you from transporting firearms if you adhere to the protocol. Cities(owners of the airport) also cannot ban airlines from transporting firearms due to the aforementioned Federal supremacy. But they can ban firearms on airport property even in checked (or to be checked) luggage. So you live in a free state, lawfully checking your locked case firearm, fly to SFO, go to pick it up at special handling and SF airport police are waiting for you there with handcuffs.
I'm not giving the Progs ideas, Kevin DeLeon, LA and San Fran Prog politicos are already busily drafting emergency legislation this week end.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

Exactly, Every LEO and CCW in the nation retrieves their luggage and goes to the rest room to re-arm. Nothing to raise a flag here.

Real question is why did we cut TSA Budget so much there were no armed TSA in Baggage claims to quickly return fire.

Real issue is he felt Baggage claims was a soft target. Minute he got resistance he surrendered. If he thought he was going to get immediate resistance he would have gone somewhere else safe like a school.

That said, another! person in authority suggested that "that won't change"... If I want to take my rifle with me on a hunt, it will be checked baggage and according to existing airline protocol.

This is some of the worst knee-jerk reaction to a madman I have ever seen.
Agree absolutely the worst knee jerk reaction, but the second rule of politics (after getting elected) is never let a good crisis or tragedy go to waste. The Fed will make some changes to the protocol of air transportation of firearms, but the Prog states/counties/cities will ban it on their property. The Progs view madman shootings as an opportunity, not a tragedy.

Ban restrooms in non-sterile zones. Better yet, ban all the restrooms. Those are not sterile anyway.

I was listening to a leftist commentator saying we should have airport screening 5 miles out from any airport. So what happens when some jihadi shoots up the crowds being screened 5 miles out?

Based on the typical intelligent decisions, they move it to 6 miles out.

There is zero difference in the gun and the shooter coming in from the plane, or coming in from the street. CA isn't going to change anything.

Ah. I was aware of the shooting.

But I typically wait for an actual political act before posting such a thread. Not everyone shares, nor needs to share, my reticence.

Oh I remember that. The difference is that shooter walked into the airport with a loaded weapon with no case. He had no intention of checking in. We'll know in a week what excremento and the Prog villages are going to do.

I have never seen so much cowering in fear as in this thread.

Actually, it's in most threads that deal with these events.
