So you have guns - do you shoot them?

I shoot trap 3-4 times a month (100 rounds each time)
Skeet and 5-Stand 3-4 times a month (100 rounds each time)
I have multiple shotguns but tend to shoot just one of them 95% of the time.Comment

I used to go every other week, 100 rounds per gun. Then I got more deeply into scale modeling and now I go maybe once every six weeks or so, probably less.
It's funny - I've also come to dislike cleaning guns. I do it (and almost immediately every time I come back from the range) but I just don't like it.Freedom is the dream you dream while putting thought in chains.

I shoot as often as possible. I just go out to the backyard and light off a few rounds toward the sky from any number of guns. Occasionally, I practice my finesse and expertise on low flying LAPD helicopters at every chance.
4th of July, New Years', Trump winning the election, my birthday, Elvis' birthday, Eugene Stoner's birthday, John Moses Browning's birthday, Samuel Colt's - all get some high-flyin' lead time.
Of course, when the above is not practicable, I set up a couple of phone books at the far end of the living room, and those will take anything up to .38 Special most times. Sure beats shooting paper at the range. That gets expensive.
Or sometimes I hit the cemetery. Forest Lawn is great. Big open spaces and the headstones make great targets. Nobody's around most times and nobody complains about the noise. And if you do shoot someone, they're either already dead or a zombie, so it's not like you actually shot someone for real. It ain't murder if they're already dead when you shoot them. By accident of course, because you can't always be sure they are really a zombie or not, most times.
But if you really want to protect yourself, get a double-barrel shotgun. You don’t need an AR-15. It’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use, and in fact, you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself. Just fire the shotgun through the door.
You know, they make fun of my saying about use a shotgun if someone’s invading your home – guess what, use a shotgun on someone invading your home and you don’t kill your kids – use an AR-15, it goes through your wall and it can kill your kid in the bedroom.
There is a whole new sort of group of individuals now that never hunt at all. But they own guns for one of two reasons — self-protection, or they just like the feel of that AR-15 at the range. They like the way it feels. It’s like driving a Ferrari, you know?-----------------------------------------------

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

Thanks. Dude we were SOAKED lmao. It poured harder than ive seen in a while. Went almost to my knee deep in mud a few times, and trying not to slip is always an adventure. So much fun, regardless. I need new boots, the soles on these are too worn down. Happy holidays man
Tons of rain on the monocular lenses so the pic looks ****ty but anything not dark green is a 2-7 inch (or more, given i was sinking into mud lol) deep puddle haha

In the last four years I shoot once or twice a month. About 100 to 200 rds each time. There was a time that I stopped shooting for about 15 years. I just lost interest. All the guns just sat in the safe. Then the first assault weapon ban came in 1989. I didn't have an AR, wasn't really interested, but since it was the last chance I bought a Bushmaster AR and a SA M1A. It got me interested in shooting again for awhile. Then I stopped shooting again for about ten years. The Single Shot Exemption came around to use a loop hole in the law to buy off roster handguns. Before the new law, AB1964, closing the SSE loop hole took effect I bought 8 off roster handguns. This got me interested in shooting again. So for the last three years I shoot fairly regularly with family and friends. Now in my old age my eyes are starting to fail me I'm slowly distributing my collection to my son and son in-law. After a life time of shooting, starting around age 12 to nearly 70, I can see that I'm going to be more of a collector than a shooter. I still have my match trophies from the 1980's to be proud off. Life goes on.
California gun laws are strange. But I'm not going to leave, this is my home.

Practice just to be proficient - by that if every shot hits the paper even better if in one of the rings . Most of time , I rent 2 stalls run thru a couple of magazines - then chaseM T's and Nephews / nieces jump up . That gives me time to buy powder / primers and generally B S with others . I probably reload about 10 times as much as I shoot .
Hunting wise - 2 years ago I bough my last hunting license it sounded like I was at range - I have no idea what people were shooting at . My vet said to stop feeding the dog rabbits and been 3 years since I got a pig .
My wife is happier with me just going to range every other week or so . Hunting / fishing stuff is in a shopping center in Dublin so she goes shopping and just complains about everyone smelling like gun powder .life member - CRPA and NRA
All ways listen - after you can say I new thatComment

I train with my EDC once a month or so, ~300 rounds, and try to take a formal class twice a year. 3-gun practice a couple of times a month with a tourney every 30-45 days in cooler weather, work schedule permitting. I don't count shooting .22 off my back patio with my kid. We'll shoot a couple of hundred rounds in a sitting on a nice summer evening at least a couple times a month.
Sporting clays is probably once a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. I don't hunt as much as I like, probably 3-5 times a year including dove, pigs, and deer. I don't have a place to store large amounts of meat, so I usually go when the garage freezer starts thinning out.
