Froglube Sucks!

Funny that so many are mentioning Rem Oil; that's probably the number two most hated lube, after FL.

Rather amusing how "New Gimmicks" are so attractive to some individuals who are of the mindset that "Newer is Always Better." The makers of Frog Lube & other such products are well aware of the "Greener Grass" & "People Will Try Anything" concept.

I've never found a better lube than Wilson Ultima Lube for high-friction areas of an auto pistol. Break Free for the rest of the gun.

I used to clean and lube my guns with Froglube, I never had any issues with it and like it. However, since both wife and I shoot our shotguns the most, cleaning them with Froglube regularly gets expensive as it is among the most expensive CLP on the market.

I switched to a similar but slightly cheaper SEAL 1, but the cost was still rather high.

Settled on G96, which can be bought by the gallon and is a military certified CLP.

Never understood what was wrong with MPro 7, Hoppes #9, Breakfree CLP, Ed's Red, Rem Oil, Marvel Mystery Oil, or any of the other stuff that shooters have been using for most of a century that folks go seeking out new products.

First time many years ago I was hoping to use it inside the house whilst watching TV and cleaning the gunz.

Amazed that people are looking for something to do what ANY light petroleum based oil already does. I have firearms bought by my dad in the 1940s that still have beautiful bluing and perfect mechanicals because of such oil.

I've been using CLP branded oils since I was a teenager, and I'm 51. No issues with function or rust.

Why are people asking the question where froglube is the answer? Having to follow directions is precisely why I am not looking to switch from CLP on a rag. There IS no wrong way to use it, and it works well. Why substitute a product that is expensive and requires an adherence to instructions to avoid the opposite of the intended property of that product?

Pity you're too far from me or I'll gladly take those, especially the FL grease. If you have a shotgun that uses a removable choke, you can coat the inside of the choke with FL grease but don't wipe the excess off. Just leave it in there, and after shooting a lot of rounds, it will make cleaning the choke a lot easier.

I still do this today for both my wife's and my own trap shooting shotguns. We shoot quite a bit and it makes cleaning the chokes a lot easier.

Not a troll, just a genuine mistake. I'll look into the Slip2000 mentioned above, otherwise Rem Oil is just fine. :/

Sounds like 3-4 drops of oil/lube equate to half a can for some guys in here. Never had a firearm come back for failing to function because of frog lube. Nor had I had any complaints about it. Somebody here wan't to show me how it's fails them and with pictures? Very curious.

Because of the trendy buzzwords

Non-toxic: Don't use your gun as a dinner utensil.
Low odor: Well, some lube does stink, but yeah there are others which tend to be fine.
Biodegradeable: I want it preserving the condition of my firearms for eternity, not biodegrading.
Edible: It's not a ****ing condiment.
New: So?
Used by special forces: Maybe "special" forces.

Basically it's the gun owner equivalent of a product for vegans that happens to be gluten free, low salt, low calorie, organic, etc.

I too fell into the froglube trap about 3-4 years ago. Only used it on one firearm and hated everything about it. Since then I've discovered Mobil One and I've never gone back.

Ditto. Swore by it until all my guns seized. Shame on me.

It is an excellent rust inhibitor. My M-4 is exposed to all the elements every single day and Froglube on the exterior is excellent for not only rust, but grime as well. Froglube will never touch a moving part on any of my guns ever again.

I applied it meticulously to my AR's and semi auto handguns per the instructions.

Ran a combat course on a warm day with my M-4 and HK USP 45. Both seized. Took them apart and they were both as dry as can be on the parts that needed to be slick (BCG and Slides). Both triggers were sluggish from the onset.

Not sure what else to say or why you need pictures of this? I assume some guns will run fine if you apply it right before shooting, but everyone on here realizes that's not a luxury you have when you really need your guns to work.
