Will the dros automatically turn to undetermined? FFL can not release until he gets that trigger.

So I know entering your SS number is optional on the forms. I'd assume this would help alleviate this kind of name mix up issue. Thoughts?Comment

nope, no help at all here. only opens you up to identity theft.
NOTHING on the 4473 is sent to CADOJ to facilitate the background check. if there an issue with a delay or something, CADOJ does not call the dealer to get additional info off of the 4473.
everything that CADOJ uses to do the background check comes from info on the DROS form, not the 4473.Jack

(4) If the department is unable to ascertain the final disposition
of the arrest or criminal charge, or the outcome of the mental
health treatment or evaluation, or the purchaser's eligibility to
purchase a firearm, as described in paragraph (1), within 30 days of
the dealer's original submission of purchaser information to the
department pursuant to this section, the department shall immediately
notify the dealer and the dealer may then immediately transfer the
firearm to the purchaser, upon the dealer's recording on the register
or record of electronic transfer the date that the firearm is
transferred, the dealer signing the register or record of electronic
transfer indicating delivery of the firearm to that purchaser, and
the purchaser signing the register or record of electronic transfer
acknowledging the receipt of the firearm on the date that the firearm
is delivered to him or her.
Your FFL is a flake that doesn't take the time to inform customers of delays. What makes you think they haven't already received an "undetermined status" notification?I sold my glok back in 2015 and bought it back 10-26-16 and on 10-27-16 my dealer received a delay letter which I didn't know about until 11-7-16 when I went to pick up my glok.
Luckily your FFL already agrees to release on undetermined. So not a "TURD", but still a FLAKE.

He checked it on the computer Friday and it still delayed. I'll check in Friday.

OP, read the first sentence of pc28220 [4] I posted again. Any "delay" of delivery on the part of DOJ, already denotes an "undetermined" status. When the 30 day clock runs out on a "delay", FFL can and should deliver.
Unless they receive a "Denied Status" prior to the 30 day deadline.
It is not required by any law, that he also receive an "undetermined trigger" statement from DOJ before releasing your firearm to you.
That 30 day clock, is clearly shown on the DROS purchaser copy. Top left corner. As the "Latest Delivery Date/Time", right down to the hour and second.

Current address. I provided a copy of the change card after the delay
