I’m not too happy to see this. I have been out of the country for a few weeks. Just got back and was planning on going to Walmart today. I was hopping this whole Obama frenzy was dying down.

Hahahaha, I live in the area too and got to agree, I have checked out all of ours up here (there are 4 in the area and one more on the drawing board) except the one on the extrem east side in Palmdale and they are all out of ammo, I was told that they are waiting for the warehouse to get more in.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

Manteca Wally and Tracy shelves are bare. They have a sign posted that says it's due to high demand. BassPro in Manteca is out of 7.62X39. They have 200 round boxes of .223 UMC for $89.99, this was on Friday.

**** the local gun store. Well maybe 90% of them. Most of them are a holes with a stick up their *** treat you like s*8t and then expect everyone to come in kiss their *** because they sell guns and ammo and still treat you like s*8t. The ONLY reason I buy ammo at a gun store ( And I only go to about 2 of them) is when I need Deer ammo/ boar or something expanding tip etc. For plinking Walmart for a quick fix online for the rest. Everyone thinks that these FFLs need to be treated differently or kept in business. Your business is what you make it. I support FFLs who know how to treat their customers. The ones that dont or cant treat ther customers ALL their customers right they can go out of business asap. Ill help them by never walking in to purchase anything.
To those FFLs that dont service their customers and think they are above everyone else go eat S**t and die.
To the ones that do I hope your business is profitable and Ill come in to purchase things I need simply because you do know how to treat people like people instead of dirt.

Was in the Chico walmart a week or so ago. Some Fed auto match and CCI 22 and 40 SW, looked like the rest was for deer rifles. A friend went yesterday, no 40 - no 22, still had shotgun, didn't ask about rifle rounds.

it could have something to do with the last years cost spike

they were keeping prices fairly low as metals and transportation costs kept climbing they probably have orders in to the major manufacturers but at the costs they are supplying the manufacturers and distributors are holding back a bit sicne they are hesitant to sell to walmart for less than their resupply cost

i went to this little gun shop they had a box of $30 carbine s&b for $15 and i knew when they go to reorder it is going to cost them more than that wholesale so i cleaned them out

I just now bought the very last box of 9mm from my Wally world. They usually have 3-4 brands and plenty of everything but I did see a guy buy about 1k rounds of wwb last week. Maybe I should have taken the hint?

Anyway, they did raise the price by .50 to $10.97 for the 50 round box. The guy behind the counter stated that they received a letter from their ammo supplier that they could not keep up with demand and did not know when they would be getting any more

I'll have to try the local shop. I did check out a shop in Atascadero and he wanted $13 for 50 reloads....then I remembered why I didn't buy my ammo there

Well, my local Big 5 had so much ammo that they couldn't fit it all on the shelves. Guy said they have seen an increase in sales, but supply was not an issue. Same story at my local mom and pop gun shop, spike in demand, but the shelves are still fully stocked.

As far as the "spend a few dollars more at a local shop" thing. I try to do that, but sometimes they're prices are just insane. $20 for 20 rounds of 30/30 flat points, $16 for 50 rounds of 9mm FMJ, $30 for a brick of .22LR. They seem to fluctuate, and when the prices are good I buy from them, but otherwise buy most of my ammo online.

you obviously havent been to a local walmart anytime recently. ALL the walmarts I have been to where 90% bare shelved. for the last month or more.

Kmart used to be the USA's largest ammo dealer until they stopped all together. Overnight walmart became the nations largest ammo dealer. I wonder if they are going to pass the torch to someone else?

how many times will this be asked? Use search for crying out loud.

Wal*Mart is not having issues. The suppliers cannot ship them fast enough. Since Obama has been elected, people are buying up a storm. The suppliers cannot get them to Wal*Mart fast enough to meet the demand.
