I asked the dept manager at Chico Wally world about it. They are out of everything too.
He showed me a corporate letter that basically stated, there suppliers are several weeks behind and demand far exceeds supply right now.

He said nothing is changing about what they carry, they just can't get it.
That's saying alot since Wally is the single largest ammo seller in the country...
Single issue voting and the 'lesser-of-two-evils' mentality is what got us into this mess!

I don't reload but from what I've been hearing reloading supplies are also becoming scarce. If that's not true maybe somebody can chime in.

It's not just Walmart. Was at Basspro earlier praying for some components. I swear I saw tumble weeds on the ammo shelves.

Scarce, I'd be happy for scarce. Only place I've seen anything really is at the shows. And you'd better be fast, because it's gone in a flash.

The Modesto Walmart I stopped at 2 days ago has all calibers although the shelves were thinning. I grabbed 4 boxes of 9mm WB and 5 boxes of .40 BB. I guess I hadn't bought 9mm in a while, I was under the impression that it was still 18 bucks.

                  I don't think so.

We go through the topic of "OMFG Walmart near _____ is stopping selling ammo!!!!!!" on a regular basis on Calguns. Walmart sells ammo because it makes them money and they will stop it as soon as something else can generate more income.

Heck I stop buy and get a few boxes of 12GA shotshells there now and then if I'm in the area(my GF goes to Milpitas for other stuff) but for the most part I go to gunshops for ammo.

I was at few shops lately and most of them have almost all calibers available. Walmart ammo might be a few dollars cheaper but I don't think it's worth getting nervous over when there are still shops that sell guns AND ammo.

Support Walmart as you wish, but remember, when the local shops slowly get driven out of business(ammo is a very good cash generator for shops) and Walmart becomes the last game in town, and they stop selling ammo, where will you go? Nevada?

I was shown this letter too last weekend at the Walmart in Orange, CA. Although I do recall it saying that ammo supplies would slowly be re-stocked in a couple weeks/months. So be patient boys...Wally won't let us down. Not with his supreme buying power.

I like to support local stores too but I also like to be able to shoot a good amount and have some extra cash to spare. Walmart wwb 100round box was 19 bucks. Local stores im paying 16 bucks for 50 rounds of their cheapest stuff. The last time I went shooting with 2 other friends we shoot 1000 rounds of 9mm wwb, 100 12 gauge 8shots. 50 rounds of 4 shot, and 300 rounds of .45 wwb. With the price difference of walmart to range.... I simply can not afford to buy range ammo all the time. I usally just buy 357,and 44 mag at the range but my 9mm comes from walmart. Since there has been ammo shortage I just haven't been back to the range.

WalMart has never stopped selling guns, they just stopped in California! I picked up a very nice remington 870 for $229.00 in Lacrosse Wi a few months ago and sent it back home while I was there. Heck, back in my old home state of Ohio, the wal mart there still sells handguns! Ahh to have that here, it would be soo nice!
