Carrying a concealed weapon w/o a permit is considered a misdeamor,if the gun is registered to you! Its a flat out felony to carry if the gun is not registered.

I thought this thread was about legally transporting a firearm in your vehicle, not carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

In Arizona I kept a Ar carbine and a few mags in a lockable shelf in one of my work trucks.
Out here I live in the sticks, so I keep a 1911 and a few mags. I really don't see the need to haul a rifle everywhere. Not that Im against others doing it, just for me in my current situation its a bit overboard.

Granted my area is known for its heavy gang activity, its just most if not all the gangs are primarily made up of raccoons.

There was a thread on here a couple years ago where a cop said he has and would continue to "felony stop" people and force them from their cars at gun point for nothing more than a report someone saw a gun in their vehicle.

The consensus among calguns LE seemed to be that it was suspicious and that counted as reasonable suspicion a crime had been committed. This was before long gun open carry was banned (not that it matters since that ban doesn't apply to vehicles) and they were stopping people for suspicion of long guns being in the vehicle (he said one time it turned out to be a camera tripod in a guys back seat).

These are supposedly "pro gun" cops that hang out on calguns who feel this way.

Well I'm a pro-gun little people and I don't have a big problem with that, but, you know, terrain dictates. For example, if it was a report of a solo driver with a gun seen with no other indicators of bad intent, I wouldn't expect a full gunpoint felony stop. Maybe just have the driver keep his hands out the window when the officer approaches. And if he had a level 3 holster mebbe have levels 1 & 2 out of the way!

I'm thinking living out in the boonies would be more of a reason to have a long gun as opposed to a pistola. Or is it that out there, you can see 'em coming?

Ok. But that cop is never going to have a reason to pull me over on those grounds. Concealed is concealed (yeah, I said it) and even in my car it's on my hip. I rarely take it off except for specific reasons (Dr's visit is one of them). At those points I am highly conscious of what is around me and park accordingly, even if I move to a more convenient location later.

The first time the nice officer will know I have a weapon is when I hand him my CCW with my DL. If his weapon comes out after that, so be it. I'm not doing anything to cause him issues or to get me shot. If he says "Bend over and suck your own D!ck", I'm sure as heck going to try as long as he is pointing his gun at me! Heck, I might even pretend I like it!

Now if it goes much further than that and he chooses to detain and/or harass me, I'll still comply. Once I get my phone call and contact CCW Safe or USCCA they can spring me and let the massive multi-million dollar harassment lawsuit begin!

I have a big problem with police stopping people for nothing more than exercising a constitutional right. I understand a lot of people feel the way you do but I couldn't disagree more. Regardless, I only bring it up to point out a reason a person might be concerned about people knowing they have a firearm even if they are doing nothing wrong and transporting a it in a legal manner.
