    Is that good or no?

The Remington 783, Savage Axis, Tikka and Ruger American receivers have a solid top, the Remington 700 receiver has an open top.

Savage 30 06, nothing more accurate in its price range.

I went to dicks yesterday and the savages were like $20 cheaper than the remingtons.

Solid top makes the receiver stiffer, but also less room to fit your fingers if necessary. 783's ejection port is kind of small making it more difficult to single load.

It's highly likely it'll be more accurate than rifles above it's price range.

Savage is good. You'd just have to compare them and see if there are things you like better with one over the other.

That is a problem! I have a Ruger American. After reading the comments, it sounds like there is a fix?
