Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

The wait isn't too bad. If I got too lonely, my FFL would bring it over on Sundays and we would shoot at my house. He brought some of his other things too.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

correctedI live inNorthern California ie humboldt county.State of Jefferson
Didn't appear to be that way. Like I said I didn't get involved in the conversation. Just heard bits and pieces. Like "all you have to do fill out a Form 1", "anyone can have one of these", "solvent trap". That's what I remember. Another member will be posting a picture. Opinions welcomed.
Was that the Samoa range?Comment

Moral of the story, only shoot at private ranges so you don't have random internet dudes taking pictures of you without your knowledge.Comment

They are supposed to do that. Reality is that DOJ picks and chooses which laws they want to enforce. Happens at state and federal level.

Why are suppressors regulated in the first place? What is the rationale the government (I guess the State in this case) has to outlaw them?Comment

They're scary so we must ban them. The sheriff of Mecklenburg county (Charlotte NC) does not sign off on NFA items. He has said that suppressors may be fine in rural areas, but they don't belong in the city. That seems like backwards thinking to me.
I heard that they were originally added to the NFA to prevent poaching during the Great Depression. Once again, it's not about guns, it's about control.Never initiate force against another. I assume you mean Robert Lavoy Finicum. I had never met the man but everything I had read or heard of him speak highly of how he conducted himself in life. In fact, it all reminded me of some of the many ranchers I know personally, people I respect. So why do you feel that you need to denigrate the man and his name? Is it the inconclusive video released by the FBI?
You may disagree with the means or even the message WRT Harney County but why make it personal and that based on a singe instance?Comment

Boulder County in Colorado is similar, and so everyone just sets up a trusts and tells the sheriff to go fornicate himself. Wonder if the nutjob will get re-elected this roundd. They're scary so we must ban them. The sheriff of Mecklenburg county (Charlotte NC) does not sign off on NFA items. Honestly not sure why they were outlawed in the first place, other than that way back in the 20's and 30's gangsters used suppressors for assassinations, and machine guns for drive bys. The whole NFA was aimed at stopping gangsters from getting better equipment than the police could get, but it i an outdated and useless law. Back then few cops could afford Thompson or Lewis guns, but bootleggers and gangsters sure could, and while laborerers- Unionized or not- also could not afford automatic weapons etc. the security companies hired by mine owners sure could, so quite often the criminals and some citizens were better armed than the police and even national guard units.
The idea of the NFA was to prevent criminals and these private security companies from just walking into the local hardware store and buying a crate of Thompsons. Suppressors, SBS, explosive devises, etc. were all added for the same reasons.
But it never worked and never has worked, the only legally purchased FA weapon ever used in a crime was used by a police officer, not an average joe. All other NFA weapons used by criminals in a crime were purchased or built illegally, which proves out the point that gun laws do jack crap but punish law abiding citizens.
The real reason the NFA will not go away has nothing to do with protecting citizens or keeping machine guns out f the hands of criminals. It is because the BATF will lose a very large portion of its budget. Its the exact same reason moonshine is illegal and should not be, and tobacco is regulated by an agency other than the Dept of Agriculture. Because if we used common sense and fixed these stupid laws the BATF would cease to exist.Fear is the spare change that will keep you broke

It's ****wads like you that encourage normal, non-gun aficionados to support gun control. If you take the time to educate the non-gun aficionados about the technologies and issues, California might not have the restrictions other states enjoy freedom from. You might actually encourage some to take up the hobby and support you "freedom" beliefs.Comment
