It is, but my point is that the answer is SOME KIND of private program(s) which are better but both parties would have to work together to do that.
But millions depend on those pensions. And MANY millions depend on SS. They automatically assume any "reform" is a screw job to cut their benefits and I don't blame them. It probably will be.
But how to get any viable alternative implemented when the GOPs goal is to make sure nothing good happens so they can get them thrown out of office.
