Thanks. I didn't even think of the troll aspect. Probably because I just don't understand the troll thing.

Debate? Op asked who would I vote for and I answered who I probably wouldn't and why. He was specifically asking about Trump.

If I was debating there would be banter back and forth. I said my piece and left it at that. Take your troll label and plant it somewhere else. Geez.

Social Security and the Federal Reserve should be the two most talked about issues.

If your "median" american were to put his money into a private account from 18 to 65 he would retire ON AVERAGE with $1.25m in the bank and could draw about 100k a year (Leaving the remainder in earning interest) until he dies peacefully in his sleep at 82.

If your "average" american did the same he would retire with $1.75m in the bank. Withdrawing about $150k a year until he was murdered by his 27 year old wife at the tender age of 82.

Keep in mind these numbers are compared to the average monthly benefit of about $1300 a month lol.

My proposal would be instead of 10.2% going into an abyss, send 8% into a private fund and the remaining 2.2% into a government sponsored mutual fund.

        And abolish the fed.

Neither do I. I noted your points and left it at that.

Interesting. Were there studies done on this, and if so, would you mind posting that information?

How would you square the deal for those citizens who have been contributing into the "abyss" with their hard earned wages for 30 to 50 years and are getting ready for retirement? Do they get screwed in your plan? If they are allowed to receive money from their contributions into the "abyss", where is that money coming from? Where is the money coming from for those citizens receiving SS right now?

Both SS and Medicare will have to transition to a (probably private) system where benefits are likely reduced or copays increased. As for contributing citizens getting "screwed": in a way, they won't get the endless benefits previous people got but most will still get out more than they paid in. Average life span now approaches 85 which means people draw for 20 years or more.

The biggest change needed is to implement some kind of "gatekeeper" on medicare so claims are reviewed. EVERY private carrier does it to prevent doctors from running up the bill. Medicare is a gold mine and estimates are probably half of what is paid is for procedures that are fake or not necessary based on standard of care.

How do I know? My wife managed a private medical group of cardiologists and they eventually only took Medicare patients because they could ring the cash register anytime they needed money. If people knew the level of fraud and abuse, they would be outraged. Bottom line is that we have to transition to some kind of viable system. No politician will admit it, but it's true.

They are often called the third rail of politics: touch and you get fried. Politicians know that the AARP and other groups will stampede the over 60 vote against anybody who even hints at reform on them.

This may be the single biggest myth people have: that social security or medicare are some kind of investment where your money is put some where for you later. SS and Med are a TAX that you have to pay so that they can pay the benefits of people collecting. PERIOD. It's not an investment program.

It is a PONZI scheme and it is going bankrupt because the extending life span is shifting the ratio of workers to collectors. In the 60's, I recall it was about 25 workers for each collector. I think now it's about 4. That's why it's going bankrupt: the worker base can not expand fast and far enough to maintain the pyramid. No Ponzi scheme ever worked and this one doesn't either.

I dont have access to the numbers but initially it will take a loss there is no way around it. But if the rest of the society was pitching 2% into a well managed fund it would help offset that loss. I have no interest in cutting people off who have paid in.

Which makes no sense. 1300 a month is the average disbursement. What does that do for anyone?

It is a ponzi scheme and it needs to be reformed immediately. It is the greatest ripoff of all time and no one cares.

Along the same lines we have a bank that prints money at interest and collects an estimated $150b annually and has never been audited. Thats not a red flag? Banks are some of the most regulated entities but nope not the federal reserve.

Could you imagine if any other bank said no you cant look at my records and thats the end of it. Ill tell you what we did and you'll take our word for it.

Makes my blood boil no one even cares.

I'll be voting for anyone with an R after their name. The alternative whoever it is scares me.

It would be wise to vote for who ever wins the republican primary. California's electorate system is an "all in" type. This means all the electoral votes of the state are going to the dems no matter who we vote for...

Personally I like John McAfee, but it would be a waste to vote for him.
