Get yourself a Les baer, great quality and machining, accuracy is unbelievable, you'll never look back! I own a concept 3, custom carry and premier 2. For about 1800.00 it will be the last 1911 you need to buy. If you want a "pretty" 1911 to look at, then get a Wilson or ed brown, you'll pay another 1000.00

For bang for buck: Glock 21

        For combat: HK Mark 23

For looking pretty in pictures: 1911

        There I said it.

                        Best 45acp?

                        Assuming new,
$450 to $600 , ok for your first
$700-$1200 , likely to be pretty good.
$1300+ , most likely really good but probably more than you need for your first.

Look at all that's available in your price range and buy it. That's the best 45acp.

the best 45 for you or me is the one you can afford. If you want a 45 that costs 1,500 but do not have 1,500 then the best one for you is under 1,000. The one i could afford was 518 OTD and i am very happy with what i have. It looks nice and functions properly. If i wanted a nicer one i would still not have a 45.

                            Here's how it usually goes:

Your buddy gets a new .45 and brings it to the range. After a while he asks if you'd like to shoot it. You do; and it's a tack driver. You can't miss. no FTF or FTE. It feels good in hand and looks very sexy. So you decide to buy one,

You go down to your LGS, and what do you know?, they have the exact same gun for a good, but not great, price. So you buy it.

You then go to the range and can't hit the broad side of a barn. You have FTF and/or FTE issues. It feels like a wheel chock and it's looks cant save it's dismal performance.

So, what's the best .45? Somehow, it's always the one that you don't own.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

This is my most accurate 45. Just a lot of fun to shoot. 45acp with or without moonclips and 45 auto rim.
