What's the best .45?

My father had a Colt 1911 .45. This was the first handgun I ever fired. Anyone familiar with a 1911 knows why I fell in love with it (without needing to know anything about me). So naturally, I own a 1911 .45.

However, I want to know what ya'all think is the best .45 out there?

Plastic stricker Fire, Glock 41.
All metal not 1911, Sig P220 single action only.

Colt 45 of course,
and,
if you want something lighter in weight but reliable and easy to shoot - the Glock 21. Try it if you haven't - the low recoil is amazing.

If I could only have one gun, then I'd stay with your Colt.

It's personal preference, my vote is for a Sig P220

The 1911 is the best .45 platform. Specifically the Wilson CQB.

Next best, i.e. non-1911, the Glock 30.

If you can't get your hands on a decent 1911, I'd vote for the S&W M&P45. I bought one to carry at work, because I was beating up my nice 1911s. I have to say, I like it a lot. In fact, it's the only polymer frame pistol I've ever handled that was worth a crap.

If forced to pick 45ACP, I'd still go with the Ruger P90.
If 45 Colt, Uberti, Ruger.. Lots of choices.
