    Disneyland...

So I just got back from a few days at the happiest place on earth. I go all the time, and until this year I have never CCW while in the park. With everything that has been going on lately, I thought I would throw on my Shield 9mm just in case. If you have never been to Disneyland, they have a security checkpoint that you go through before you get to the main gate to get in. The security point is where they check your bags/backpacks/strollers etc. to make sure you are not taking in any restricted items. So the second day, there is a guy in front of my with a backpack. As they are searching it, they pull out a pocket knife, and tell him he cannot take it into the park. It's just a standard folding pocket knife, nothing "tactical" or anything. He has to return it to his hotel room (as he took the shuttle) or dispose of it. He left the line and started heading back to the shuttle pick-up area. I then walked right through with a 9mm undetected. Strong work Disney

Would you prefer that they pat you down and remove you from the park?

Bringing a pocket knife in a backpack is just stupid. Could have had it in any pocket and been fine.

Personally, I'm glad you got your Shield in. With everything happening right now I want as many armed and well trained Calgunners around as possible.

Next on the cnn. "I CCW every time I go to Disneyland" says a gun enthusiast on calguns.net
Some things are better left unsaid in life. Just my opinion.

Disneyland security is more concerned with people bringing in selfie sticks or booze. No joke.

Were you there Wednesday? I had a strong feeling their would be a Calguns member there other than myself.

Walking in Wednesday morning I wondered how many people cc there. I wasn't sure so I kept my knife on me. I forgot how the do checks so I threw it in our backpack under the food. Well the girl looked at all the food moved around a little bit and let me through. I guess I could have had it in my pocket the entire time... After getting through I looked at my wife and said "wow it would be really easy to ccw here."

You'd think with the threats and all that's going on in the world that they'd have more security than a couple of dogs smelling groups of people walking in and old ladies barely looking through backpacks.. All I know is that next time we go I need to have a ccw permit.

I wonder if Disney would ban you for life if you were caught carrying?

I was there on Wednesday!! I didn't see you.. I went there with my girlfriend.. Funny thing I was telling here I wish I had my CCW, if I did I would have been carrying and I was explaining to her how it is not illegal to carry, only prohibit by park meaning only thing they can tell you is to leave.. She just yawned and didn't care what I had to say... She only wanted some ears...

Ahhhh I knew I should have posted something the night before. It would be cool to meet some more calgunners.

Well I hope the ears made her happy. Happy wife/gf, happy life right?
Ya when I said that to my wife about carrying next time she looked at me and said I should. With everything going on and having a 2 year old and another on the way she is all about knowing when and where we can carry. I'm pretty sure if she had the chance shed carry everywhere as well.

Wednesday was awesome though. Longest we waited was 25 minutes and my daughter was able to get quite a few character signatures. What about you guys?

You end up in security, will be issued a ban letter & they notify your IA. I know of at least one LASD Reserve who lost his permit & Badge.

Just got back from Disneyland tonight. Noticed something different this time in that they're now funneling everyone from the bag check line to a choke point where two employees subtly eyeball everyone going in. Thought it was a little ingenious and surprisingly unobtrusive.

Don't pat yourselves on the back for getting your guns into the park, guys. Theyre definitely profiling for something specific, and I don't think it's normal looking guys bringing their carry guns into the park (not that they'd be particularly happy finding out about it).

Yes. And your issuing CLEO will probably revoke your CCW because you failed to respect the rules of a private entity.

Yep. I had a deputy working for me that got caught. He ended up getting a suspension out of it.
