Steps to clear bedrooms

You would need to enter every bedroom as each one has a closet. If you have kids/wife back there at the time I suppose they would give you a good indication of where an intruder may be. If you are in the front of the house and you hear someone in the back and everyone is in the front room with you, leave the house and call the cops. Of course the first issue only applies if you are either armed at all times in your home or you have a firearms placed throughout the home. Still need more info on the specifics of the house but you may not want to discuss these specifics on an open forum. Other options are security system or dog.Comment

I usually fart under the covers and yell 'DUTCH OVEN!' - it clears my wife out of the bedroom every time.Comment

You don't clear it. Let the cops do it. They work in teams.
Generally the sound of a slide being racked and a loud "Move and I'll shoot" will keep them in place till the police arrive or at least they will announce the presence and you'll have a better idea of where the threat is. Just wait near the end of the hall where you have good cover if you feel you need to get involved.

If your house has one entrance, easy to cover, if it has two, harder. Change your sleeping arrangement so that all entry starts in one room (in my case, the living rooom). Then sleep there.
Otherwise, alarm all entrances so you wake up as soon as a breach occurs.
Or, since you're new, if you're trolling, just put a gun free zone sign in front of your house. The scumbags will see it and just move on to the next house...criminals always pay attention to GFZs.
Sorry, not sorry.

This could be seriously dangerous for one individual to undertake. A second friendly needs to be there to provide overwatch of at least the hall corridor while you attempt to enter and secure room #1. As you have stated, a hazard exists from potential threats in any rooms where your back is turned.
From your drawing, I would consider reconfiguring rooms 1 and Master by adding additional entry doors from kitchen and living room. Existing doors in those rooms should be dead bolted and only used for moving furniture, etc.
The existing hallway would then only serve room 2 and the adjacent bathroom.Comment
