Why used for new prices???

Yep I'm locked up in a damn hotel in airazona a for a couple days so I need some entertainment. If I only didnot half to conduct business during the day I would be at the range.

I thought most business in AZ was conducted at the range.

I just bought a new P-01 and WITH tax, DROS, AND renewing my FSC was OTD for about $50 less than what most of them are listed for on CG.

If apples to apples and I'm not saving money buying used I prefer to buy a new gun.

Sometimes it is a hard to get item. Sometimes I see something that I really like and I want. If the price isn't shocking. I buy it.

Ill probably get yelled at or a rash of hate mail for this but why the hell are people selling used guns that are readily or easily avalable to obtain new for the price of or mor than new guns. Now there are good sales on cal guns and I would say most are reasonable but there are so many people asking outrageous prices and get offended if you offer say 400 on a glock 26 whin there asking 550 used. There are 3 shops here that have it for 490 and 500. Am I in the wrong at least asking that price. I'm just gonna buy new.

There's more dynamics here. Those that sell for a fair price disappear real quick and all that's left are the gougers. That's one reason you see so many.

I'm kinda glad they're asking outrageous prices for their stuff. Reality is I have too many now.

What you're paying for is the expert break-in of the weapon. I figure you can trust someone who flips a gun after 200 rounds!

If I don't want something bad enough to sell it, I price it accordingly to get it the hell out of my hair.
If I happen to not want a firesale, I search what others are selling for and make it cheaper than anyone else by 5-20 percent (depending on product). I can then advertise that to make it "pop".

I think it is because the wife found out that you had to many guns and told you to sell one . so you put it up for sale at a large price so it wont sell . and you can tell the wife that you tried to sell it but got no takers

Where did you get that idea? No one is trying to force anyone to sell at a certain price. If you think a bunch of people commenting on the prices of a particular market are somehow communists, I suggest you educate yourself.

Because people don't understand that dros and tax are costs you eat, not things that add value to the gun. That, and they're clueless of the concept of depreciation.

Plus with dros and tax new, you're looking at 560-70 new... So people think 10 dollars cheaper than that is a good "deal."

Personally, I'd rather pay the extra 10-20 bucks.

no, they don't add value to your gun, but they make acquisition of the new gun higher. therefore, I can look at what a new one would cost out the door, and then price mine accordingly. DROS is a wash since you would pay that for new or used, but if the only way you'll get a certain gun is by ordering it from the manufacturer and then transferring it through a dealer, the fact that it'll probably cost your 50+$ transfer fee and shipping fees gets figured into what the acquisition cost would be.

as a seller, the goal is to price the firearm for as much as he can get for it. that means making it slightly cheaper than buying new to the point where a buyer is willing to buy used if he saves 5%, 10%, etc vs. if he bought new.

when I am buying used, I do the same thing, I calculate exactly what it would cost me to acquire that firearm from my local FFL with all the taxes and any shipping/transfer fees and then determine if I save enough money buying used to deal with the hassle of a PPT.

If they're asking X amount and you offer $150 less....what the hell did you think their reaction would be. Why do you think anyone would ask a price if they did not want to get it?

When you buy a car, do you pay sticker price?

I'll just add this. This is how I would handle a G26 assuming gen3.

Retail - (504.00)1.0863 + 25 + 20 = 592.50

Therefore I would look for 592.50*.90=533.24-35=498.25

The highest I would pay for a used stock Glock 26 is 498.00.
