Seriously??? Why would people buy from an American company. Seriously??? Because it provides jobs!!! Are you actually saying you would rather have your neighbors, friends or family without a job and living on public assistance so you can spend a little less to buy ammo from a foreign company? I stand by what I said -- patriotism and taking a stance against naked aggression stops at the wallet for way too many people. So if North Korea, ISIS or Al-Qaeda develop a business plan and start marketing and selling cheap ammo are you going to stand in line to buy from them too? If that's the case then America is doomed.

Good luck convincing AK, SKS or any gun owners to quit using lower cost imported steel ammo. Its not going to happen.

Yup, you guys hit it right on the head. Most people could care less about politics and being politically correct. To them if the ammo is cheap, stack em deep.

        Also - to Vlad 11

You are absolutely right. Not all of Wolf's ammo comes from Russia. They also sell ammo fro other countries (e.g. 7.62x39 from Ukraine). Thank you for pointing this out. But here is something to ponder. I called Wolf and asked them if they sold Russian ammo, and they said absolutely they do, depending on caliber. So I send them an email asking them which calibers they sell from Russia. Haven't heard back yet, but I'm hoping that is due just to a heavy workload.

One of the lessons of the great depression is that tariffs (and their cousin; sanctions) can cut both ways. Most of the non econ based history books concede it but chalk it up to retaliatory tariffs but that's not the whole story. Sometimes cheap goods leave money in people's pockets they then have to buy other products... possibly American. Excluding cheap Chinese clothes and cheap Russian ammo from the American market isn't going to make America richer IMO... Spending a third more on ammo does not make one rich. lol

I've heard a lot of talk lately about how Wolf ammo is inexpensive and is therefore being used by a growing number of shooters.

Personally, I don't care about Wolf's steel casings or copper-platted steel bullets or excessive fouling or failure to obturate sufficiently or being banned from ranges.

What I want to ask is why American gun enthusiasts are giving business to a Russian company (Tulskiy Patronniy Zavodwhile) while Putin is president?

As president, Putin has imposed severely undemocratic actions in Russia, brought his country to the brink of economic ruin, and has been dangerously aggressive militarily towards the rest of the western world.

As an American gun enthusiast I believe we should always try our best to support American companies first, and then our allies second.

Given the situation with Putin / Russia I would think we would buy Wolf ammo only as the very last life-or-death option.

The more business we deny Russian companies, the more incentive they have to rein in this loose cannon.

By the way, I also object to American companies and organizations waving the American flag but then turning around and supporting questionable foreign economies (e.g. the NRA buying hats that are clearly marked "Made in China").
I remember when Walmart first main and bragged about American products. Look at Wally W now.

Sorry to say at least 98% of all American shoes are China. I don't care for any of the above, but dam I love rUssian ammo. Sheezzz

I'm guessing most of these manufacturers inherited the equipment from the socialist days and now churn out product with them. Also labor is cheaper.

So; maybe its cost prohibitive to just buy the machines for steel case for just civilian use / sales... re: same price or cheaper to buy brass equipment in the US.

This is just an FYI because I believe everyone has either expressed their opinions or agree with others who posted theirs. So this is just info in case you want to use it.

I just spoke with Wolf Ammo, and I said I didn't want to buy Russian ammo, and asked where their 9mm, .45 ACP .223/5.56 and 7.62x39 ammo came from. They said that if I don't want to buy 9mm, .45 ACP .223/5.56 or 7.62x39 ammo from Russia I probably can't buy Wolf ammo right now because it is coming from Russia. However, there may be suppliers of Wolf ammo that already have a supply of those calibers right now in stock that states on the box that they were made in some other country (e.g. "Made in Ukraine"). Also, Wolf said they source those calibers from other countries throughout the year. So, if you care whether it comes from Russia then look at the box before purchasing, and if you don't care then buy away. Good shooting to everyone.

If there was a US company that made 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r that cheap I'd buy it. There isn't.
