    Seriously...this...or more.

With all the shortages we've had, 5K seems about the right number to have on hand. Sucks that you have to stock so much.

Absolute numbers are worthless. Have at least a good year or two of stock which will turn into double that if things go bad.

The moment I but a gun, I imidiatelly get 1000 rounds for it, mark the box "don't even think about it!" and stash it away.
Of course, there is more than this 1000 rounds. The storage is the limiting factor.

2 years minimum, 5 years optimal, normal shooting pace.
It helps if you enjoy reloading.

Well, I probably do but I haven't really bought squat since the panic. Bunch of projectiles and that's about it. A proper hoarder doesn't hoard in times of scarcity and high prices, one hoards in times of plenty. If you've been hoarding during the panic, you're doing it wrong.

Besides, it's only hoarding if you never shoot.

My rule of thumb is to keep a minimum of 1,000 rounds per firearm.

In the past I've always said a two year supply but given how long the .22 shortage has lasted maybe that was optimistic.

But I'm with Uhlan. You don't panic and buy a ton when things are scarce. You buy extra when there's a sale. Right now centerfire pistol calibers are pretty reasonable. Next time some ammo you like is available in quantity at a decent price go for it.

Depends on how much you shoot. 2K rnds for some people is 2 month supply,
for others, years. I would suggest at least 1 yr supply. 2-5 yr even better.

Nuf said. I will continue to buy and shoot. 5k per caliber is my goal. Yes, we all need to be prepared for a shortage again. Don't want to be that guy. Ammo is readily available now. Buy , Buy , Buy !

No set number but I believe in the buy all you can when it goes on sale theory.

Nothing worse than being at the range with not enough ammo.

You MUST now have enough to fill a large lock box (Maybe It was just a Mandatory required suggestion)

Nice wall paper, but what up with the lids?

Must be waiting on the 2nd shift to stock and the 3rd shift to put the lids on.
