    Wildlife on the range?

Anything similar happen to anyone else? I didn't even notice the first one until it was right over my sights. It wasn't the last time they darted across either, they had balls.

Chabot here, near Oakland, has deer that will graze the 200 yard range, in among the target holders, while folks are shooting.

Not 'sposed to shoot the dumb things. A bit like 'sitting ducks', I guess.

Not even during deer season? You could call a line break to field dress the sucker.

Chabot also has turkeys wander onto the 100 yard line(resulting in a ceasefire while they get shooed off), and you'll see 3-5 deer at a time on occasion on the ranges to the right of the pistol line if they're not in use.

Metcalf has some large birds that like to perch out on targets, not sure what's up with the parking lot goats. If the wind is just right sometimes you'll get birds hanging out on the skeet fields... in the path of the clays.

        Wildlife seems to love firearms.

Had 3 deer enter the pistol range at Angeles once. Range masters called cease fire and warned people of extensive penalties for shooting them.

At the Fres Rifle and Pistol Club, up on range 5 once, we were preparing to fire and a roadrunner hauled a** across our range.
Pretty funny. Like he was taunting us.
            Boredom I think.

It's almost like they know you can't shoot them even though you really want to.

Had a deer wander into the 100 yard line at WEGC earlier last year, headed for the water that had pooled in the drainage basin.

Half hour ceasefire later, it cruised off.

I was a member of WEGC and let my membership lapse last year on accident. BIG mistake . I'm 8th on the wait list for April, can't wait to be in again great range.

3 deer wandered onto the rifle range at Angeles. RO called cease fire and warned of calling Fish and Game if anyone did anything stupid. I think they know its safe so they stick around because the coyotes don't come around.

Last month there was a large bob cat at the end of bay 6 of WEGC. It looked like the size of a large dog and was quite beautiful, but blended in to the brush very well. The deer are quite common out there as well. It is nice to see wildlife so close to the city.

Seems everytime I shoot at Mammoth Lakes, a group of deer wander across my range. I then shoot them, with my Cannon camera.

Pendelton ranges have buffalo that occansionally wander onto the range, we would have to cease fire until THEY decide to vacate the area... of course Marines dont want to.spend alot more time waiting at the range, versus shooting, police calling and then waiting for the 7tons to pick us up....
