I work for one of the large aerospace companies, and they just said that everyone has to be vaxed by Dec 8th based on Xiden's EO for fed contractors. I can really lose my job, I've been there almost 20 years, and have a family to take care of. I may try to file an exemption, but they don't give you enough time to get vaxed after the exemption is due to meet the deadline.

The kicker is that I just had covid in August and I probably have better immunity than many of my coworkers who got vaxed early this year.

Competent network engineers are in high demand everywhere, so you should be able to hook up wherever you wish.

Make sure your creds are up to date, update your resume, and start sending it out to prospective locations. You should be fine with transferable skills.

I honestly hate this threads because I been "laid off" for two months and it's been terrible, now people have to feel my pain, on top of that it hurts more because I wish they took time to understand it before it happens to them, IMO. I wish you the best of luck though..

OP - I am very sorry to hear this. I'm in the same boat as well. I am even a 100% remote worker; no exceptions. I am feeling very high anxiety over this. Stay strong; you are fighting for your freedom.

                        1) Get vaccinated (nope), or upload a bogus vaccination card (again, nope).

                        2) Submit paperwork for a medical or religious exemption.

So, it's really a choice between 1 & 2. Hell of a thing, to take a man's livelihood because he won't submit to poisoning himself.

                            I sailed on ships too.

If I got some adverse effects from some shots I got, I get at least paid for the disability caused by the VA. At LEAST.

Right now? These "injections" are liability free due to EUA status, meaning - you get scarred heart tissue? Pfizer and Moderna and J&J just laugh at you while they deposit their enormous taxpayer-written check into global bank accounts. The government doesn't even do the citizens a solid by forcing that liability as a condition of writing those huge checks. Instead, it's "jab or starve" for the regular dude/dudette.

This is a bull**** take anywhere it is given. There is no accountability anywhere to be found except on those who should not have to bear it. As adults, and as Americans, we should know better that to take a sucker's bet.

Well....... was going to that informally, but needed to suss out who would be on board. There are many employees that have to report to offices, and then there is the Professional Services group that mostly works remote with some engineers traveling to client sites to service accounts. Healthcare and Government has threatened to pull contracts if all vendor employees are not vaccinated or do not have valid exceptions. In any case the travelers (of which I am one) would not be allowed to set foot on these sites, no exceptions. The bulk of the remote engineers are remote (again, me),so it's hard to connect informally and see who is thinking what. As it happens, my last project travel engagement was for all last year and the last turn-up is scheduled for December. Management values me, so they are sending someone else and transferring me from the implementation group to the design group..... purely remote.

So, fast forward to yesterday...... I networked with a few of my co-workers, and got the word informally that religious exemptions were issued just for the asking. No religious affiliation required, no official letterhead, no lengthy reasoned explanation or asking for accommodations. Just hit the web portal and ask. So, I gave it a try to see if it were true, and within 2 hours my request was approved by HR with no followup or questions asked. Turns out, out HR is seemingly rubber stamping any request they receive.
