    Coach Don's Skeet Trainees

Just seeing if any of Coach Don Ziegler's trainees may be interested in shooting some skeet on Friday at Triple B. I'd like to get back out there and start putting things into place for a few rounds of skeet. I'm looking at 2-4 rounds, give or take, depending on everyone's availability. I'm available starting at 10 AM when Triple B opens, all the way up to about 2 PM or so.

For what it's worth, I've only been through one session of Coach's training, so I'm still a Level I trainee - so if you're a pro, hope you don't mind someone learning on the job!

Shoot me a PM, or reply here.

HA! Hilarious. The Coach-isms are worth their weight in gold. I'll post something up again, and hopefully you'll be around. Otherwise, I'll see you at the upcoming clinics.

I'll bump this up later in the week, Jordon. If you're around, it'd be great to shoot with you (so long as you don't mind giving pointers!).

Open invitation to all Ziegloids who can make Oak Tree Thursday nights. I'm usually there. Best to shoot with "like-minded" people in the teachings of Z.

Yep, I'm lucky enough to have Fridays off. It gives me a chance to avoid weekend crowds, and get to have lots of fun.

Went out and shot some skeet today. Used Triple B's delay system. NOT a good idea for a beginner! LOL. I realized I didn't have enough time to go through my progression. Too hard to do everything I wanted to do by the time I pushed the button. I still hit quite a few clays, and still had an AWESOME time.

Here's hoping I can get some of you all out in the future. Otherwise I'll be making a crazy drive to see Sid on weekday evenings! That, or forcing my wife to pull for me! LOL. I'm trying to get her to commit to one of Coach's classes.

Heh. Mah truck took a ****. Not just ANY ****, but a BIG FAT ****. It is pissin out the bottom of the water pump so On friday I had the bright idea to "FIX" it. Now I need a new FAN and FAN clutch installed and I need to put all them hoses back. It is still undriveable but my driveway went from concrete to RUST colored in a matter of an hour...

Anyways, schedule this again and I would like to show up also. I might be employed again soon so who knows...

                    GunninIt,

                    Now that's dedication!

I'm surprised you didn't squad up with another group on the public fields. Believe me, most folks welcome new shooters to shoot with them. When I started, I had to do the same and all the regulars are very welcoming. Kind of goes with the sport, i.e. skeet is a social game.

But yeah, hope you can make it up on Thursday nights at Oak Tree next time. I live in Camarillo and drive 45 mins to get there.

How do you get onfield alone, anyway? Was there an empty field or something? The one time I went on Friday the place was packed!

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

I would have partnered up, Sid, but there wasn't anyone there when I arrived at 10, believe it or not! It wasn't until I was most of the way done, that another single showed up. He just stood way back until I was done. Wish he'd stepped in, I would have been happy to have him pull for me.

I'm coming from pretty far away, but if I got off work early enough, I'll give you a shout if I can make it.

First customer on Friday morning? No problem getting out alone. As I stated above, there was no one out there. It wasn't until I was mostly done that one more person showed up. Sure, there were people on the trap and sporting clay ranges, but near as no one at the skeet ranges.
