Baller! I wanted an m4 but decided a 930spx and the rest spent on ammo, maybe a training course and accessories would be cheaper and serve me better. One day Ill get that m4 though, its on the list with the long range gun and a high end 1911.Nikita Khrushchev said"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism. Extended waiting time because Benelli sent out the wrong gun in the wrong box.
Hopefully I get my M2 before the end of the month. Doesn't look that way though...I provide opinions...

I'm starting gun jail tomorrow.
I actually ordered the gun about two weeks ago and thought I had the ten day covered.
But alas the DROS was not sent in yet as I did not finalize the paperwork.
My choice was the 590-a1 20" Brl. Blackwater Edition.
I've heard this ridiculed before as being political or tacti-cool on another site.
But the truth is that this edition offers the most economical way to get all the features I want and MORE.
It comes with a speedfeed stock which I'm going to TRY.
It comes with upgraded XS ghostring line sights (which will be fun for slug shooting which I enjoy)
It comes with top-rear and right side picatinny rails.
And of course the logo which I don't care about and might just black out.
The main criticism of this was why pay more for the logo and the "coolness"
But the truth is that there is no other offering for this price, which is the same as the 20" 590-A1 with speedfeed WITHOUT picatinny rails and higher quality XS sights.
So basically by getting this edition I am getting all the features I wanted plus rails and better sights for the same price OR EVEN LESS based on prices both on the Mossberg site and the internet.
So for those of you interested in the full length version with speedfeed and ghost rings, consider the Blackwater for the improved sights and picatinny rails, even though you might be subjected to a little razzing by those who are really just secretly wishing they found this great deal.

Awesome!
I tried out the speedfeed stock in the store using some snapcaps that they had lying around. I really liked it so I chose mine with that one. I already ordered a side saddle and better sights from Brownells to upgrade from the simple bead sight. I'll be taking it out to the BLM land on Sunday to give it a try. Please verify historical quotes before putting them in your signature.Comment

If only I had done the paperwork a few weeks ago.
I thought the time started when I ordered it since this FFL already had my info on line. I didn't realize I had to physically sign (I ordered over the phone).
Now I have to wait ten days, plus a few more to get a day I can go.
I'll be with ya in spirit brother.
Knock one down for me

Also, it is less gracefull that a side saddle for purposes of training a reload.
That being said what I do like about it is that it is not sticking out like a side saddle, and does not add weight to just one side like a saddle does.
Also, I expect it will help bring the balance of the gun back towards the shooter with a full magazine on a 590-A1 which is a nice plus.
If you are going to have both extra round solutions, you could literally have 18 rounds (not including a chambered one) in or on the gun.

On Sunday I DROS'd a Mossberg 930spx from a local member here on CalGuns, wanted the Benelli m4 but couldnt justify blowing all that cash at the moment. Ill pick it up the day I get back from Idaho (11/4) and hopefully shoot it in the near future. Seems like a solid semi-auto, need to get a few pieces for it beforehand of course.Nikita Khrushchev said"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism.
