That's what I was thinking. It's like buying a LCD TV from Target/Walmart/Kmart and being surprised that you know more than the guy behind the electronics counter. You go to those places for the price, not the service or expertise of the person helping you.

Exactly, people think because they spend a few bucks they deserve Beverly Hills service.

They forget they are buying discount goods.

IMHO its the customers that are stupid.

Literally there is 1-3 customers that know what they want per day.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Maybe it's just me but less whining from LPRs would be nice.

I've bought one gun from B5 - a Hawk 982 12 gauge - and they went beyond standard customer service to get that shotgun to me. I have no complaints.

But then I didn't go in there expecting the type of service I would get at Addax or RifleGear. Of course it'd be great if their employees would know the basic ins and outs of DROS, but let's be honest, plenty of seasoned FFL's get tripped up by the less than clear rules & regulations surrounding firearm sales. Even the CGN experts disagree n some of the finer points.

Furthermore, painting all the employees at a chain of store, or even just one location, as "idiots" is insulting and ignorant.

I'm glad B5 has hung in there and still sells rifles & ammo. It's not the first place I would go, but no doubt there are thousands of Californians who had their first exposure to firearms from a B5 advertisement, and thousands how bought their first gun there. We should be thankful for their presence.

Last Thursday, a Big 5 employee told me I couldn't buy shotgun ammo because I wasn't 21 (I'm 18). She also mentioned that "even kids with their military IDs are denied because they're too young".
